Thanks for all the responses.

I don't drink alcohol & have never smoked. Eat too much sugar & sleep is a bit crap.

Should I use Vit C, glycolic acid, niacinamide & retinol every day?

It is very spendy but the Bioeffect EGF serum actually works

God, that stuff is amazing. I got a sample in a beauty box and it was like having a new face.

No.just pick one and see how you get on. Vichy do a reasonably priced vitamin c

I would add one thing at a time for a week or two to see if your skin tolerates it.
I love niacinamide but it is not for everyone.

Definately don't do this. I've used Retinol for years but I have a horrible reaction if I try to use an acid. It's a hard no for me. Even vit c can be aggregating with Retinol. If you want nice skin for an event don't add loads in it's more likely to give you a reaction. Retinol can takes years to improve skin texture.

I would do lots of hydration and vit c only

Could someone get me a discount or referral for tret please?

Another thing yoga really helps. Don’t know why but it does. Never seen a really aged yoga teacher think it’s to do with blood flow to the head.

Very likely related to cortisol levels too.

SWsmileyface · 02/09/2023 11:43

I just had facial which included black head removal. I didn't even know that black head removal was a thing but it's made the skin on my nose look much better!

I think it's likely that yoga teachers try to live by the Yamas and Niyamas which encourage self restraint so more likely to eat well and not adopt unhealthy habits

That's also how they lured me in: A free sample in a ritzy department store many moons ago when I was a cash-strapped graduate student. I'm still cash-strapped ... with much better skin 😀

I tried that a few years ago, and was just thinking last week I'd like to use it again, but couldn't remember the name.

I agree it works well. I tried it as a friend's skin looked amazing and I asked her what she was using, so I don't think I was just kidding myself that it made a difference to my own skin as well.

Yes, it really does work wonders. If only it wasn't so expensive!

Saverage · 07/09/2023 19:16

@snygghygge I went and had a look at the bioeffect site and they have a serum set at the moment that's good value - 15ml face serum, some body serum, eye serum and 'essence' that goes on before serum. And also a free 5ml sample of their face serum.

It's £129 and a 15% discount if you've not ordered from their actual website before. Ended up buying it, planning to use the body stuff on my face as well to eke it all out a bit longer.

That's a really good deal! I have to check whether they have the same deal on my local website as I'm not in the UK. I've actually used the body serum on my face - while not as concentrated as the proper serum it's still quite good 😊
