What on earth do I wear??!
Given that the forecast isn't great 🙄
We are only there for the day (im not insane 🤣) as my son wasn't old enough to go.
I was going to wear trainers & a Uniqlo dress with a combat jacket , but think maybe DM boots might be better in case of mud? My hair will look like crap if it rains - can I get away with a straw trilby type hat or will it melt in the rain? God I'm too old for this 🤦🏼‍♀️

Wall to wall carpet tops🤣

Oldraver · 25/08/2023 13:49

Bloody crochet... I've had no cider yet

Whataretheodds · 25/08/2023 13:49

DMs or wellies.
Dress or skirt not much longer than knee length, or denim shorts
Waterproof
Small rucksack, bum bag or cross body bag with wet wipes
Suncream
Face sequins or glitter
Sunglasses

HappiDaze · 25/08/2023 13:52

Ooo post some photos if you can OP

ShirleyPhallus · 25/08/2023 13:56

Always go for shorts, if it rains then your legs get wet then they dry. If you wear jeans then you have soggy jeans all day.

so shorts, boots or trainers, tshirt & Mac to go over the top

Halo8 · 25/08/2023 14:03

Last year I went in combat shorts, band T shirt and hiking boots. The weather was burning hellhole with added dust bowl though.

HappiDaze · 25/08/2023 14:09

I mean photos of the venue not necessarily of yourself

I'm going tomorrow and Sunday so hopefully will miss the worst 😞 f showers

I do have a pair of ankle wellies but opted for waterproof booties to go over my trainers

I did order a waterproof long poncho but it's not arrived so taking a shorter poncho, I was hoping to cover my legs ...well was hoping my short jeans wouldn't get wet

Just wearing a band t-shirt and the jeggings

Sunday I may wear a dress, staying in a hotel Sunday night so can take a change. I'm hoping the ground won't be too wet so wellies it will be

I heard a couple on the radio today who are 60 and going so I won't be th oldest ooh I am packing my yellow frog hat just in case

The rule of A4 size bag is a bummer to get round

I used to buy those cheap rain ponchos and fashion one into a long (see-through) skirt.

Easy to take off and pack away if the sun comes out!

I've only just clocked that the Killers aren't ok until 9.50 pm
*faints
I'll be going in my pjs at this rate 🤣🤣 I'm clearly a terrible person but I'm not rocking up til 7.30 at the earliest (thank goodness my son also isn't interested in any other acts either)

That's a lot of money to see The Killers. If I was there on the Saturday, I'd see Sleep Token, amazing metal band!

Oldraver · 25/08/2023 22:22

@DerekFaker I had thought of doing that as I have one of the cheapies (for DS, that he didn't want). We came home early just as the rain started . Not long got home and I'm knackered

Were not going till later on Sunday which ch suits us, can't keep up with the young uns

I’m with you on Sleep Token, bloody awesome.

FadeAwayAndRadiate · 25/08/2023 22:27

Errrr, I'm pretty sure most of the people there will be full-grown-adults. Confused

Not if the train to Reading on Wednesday was an accurate representation they won’t! Definitely skews younger.

I echo the suggestion of shorts and a cheap rainproof poncho, though. And wellies.

TheShoeLady · 25/08/2023 22:40

I'm going just for The 1975 but will stay for The Killers too. I'm going for combat trousers and trainers with a band t shirt, but have dyed my hair appropriately festival-ly as a nod to some kind of effort. Going with 18 yo DS which will be fun. Also hoping to see Baby Queen and Holly Humberstone at lunch time if we get there in good time, but don't want to rush about, so we'll get there when we get there.

From the teen threads about this, also taking bin bags for muddy shoes and a spare pair to drive home in, baby wipes, tissues in case the portaloos don't have any tissue and a mini fan as I'm a menopausal mess at the moment. Have a great time!

Will listen on Spotify but metal ain't really my thing. £100 isn't bad for the killers, I've seen them x6 before and just love them

Sleep token are a different kind of metal, I've just realised they're at the same time as The Killers though. It's due to rain most of today... Mud is on its way!

Oldraver · 27/08/2023 10:20

The clientele is very definitely waited to post GCSE DnB heads

I also reckon lots of younger ones and there is certainly a lack of 'over 18' wristbands, though I was told I don't need one 🤣

I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of toilets no queuing etc. Though that could change today

Wear shorts or a short skirt legs dry quicker. Put some tights in your bag if its cold.

Take some travel John's. (You'll thank me later !)
Waterproof

Wellies and wellie socks ( really important make sure they go over the top of your wellies )

Brilliant advice.... Now how to get it all in a smaller than A4 bag 🤣. I've found a few ways round it but you have to be creative

Maddy70 · 27/08/2023 12:49

I'm jealous. First time in years i haven't gone. Enjoy every minute. Remember ti smuggle in some voddy in a collapsible water bottle (b n m ) one under each cup of your bra. Just buy coke off the ice cream man. Glastonbury at everyone else quing for ages for a drink that Costs one million pounds;)
