I'm wearing foot peel booties right now - experiences?

As I type this, my feet are wrapped up in little plastic booties filled with fruit acid foot peel juice (and, I won't lie, probably a fair amount of sweat).

I'm an hour into a 90-minute wait, I'm listening to Desert Island Discs (the Emma Thompson one), my feet are getting progressively warmer, and I'm wondering if I've made the best decision of my life or a MASSIVE error.

Has anyone else done one of these? What happened? How long did your feet take to start peeling?

For context: I am frighteningly ticklish in the foot region and flop about like a furious trout in a pedicure chair, shrieking uncontrollably – so I'm hoping this is a clever way to get nice soft tootsies while avoiding getting arrested for causing a public disturbance...

You have to ensure that you do it at least two weeks before a holiday, especially a beach holiday, as the water stimulates the peeling.

It''s very embarrassing to come out of the water, plop yourself on your sunbed and realise that your feet look like a pair of frilled lizards

I live in a 'beach holiday' place, so hopefully daily sea-swims and beach-walks will speed things up a bit!

Just don't want to leave bits of skin all over someone else's boat deck... I'll never be invited back on board! 😮

they just don't work for me; runner with pretty good feet IMO. some slight small peeling on side is all I get. tried footner and free other brands. wish they did work I'd enjoy that lol

Best three weeks of my life.

Nothing happened for a week but after that it was joyous.

Be prepared for constant blisters etc you get once you've taken all the useful hardened skin off! Your feet protect themselves with hard skin for a reason.

I think it depends on the extent of the callouses - I'm a fairly keen runner (30-40 miles a week) and if i don't do occasional footner i actually start to get blisters at the side of the callouses cos they have built up too much. But yes, a small amount of hardened skin in strategic places is helpful, i wouldn't be looking to totally remove it.

Still nothing happening, crew...

I reached down to scratch my toe this morning and got VERY excited because I thought I could feel a chunk of skin coming away – turned out to be a cornflake.
