Best bra - rotator cuff injury

Hello!

I always, always wear slightly padded over-the-head crop tops as bras. Now I have injured my rotator cuff and putting them on hurts so much. I also can’t do a normal bra up behind my back. I could do one up in the front and twizzle it round - but thought I would also ask for suggestions. Can anyone recommend a comfy, ideally non-wired, slightly padded, front fastening bra?

thank you!

Mine are underwired but yeah, front loaders are so much better!

If it helps, it's been 3 years of physio but I can now undo a rear fastener (that someone else has done up for me!)

And I did mine having a Covid jab Confused

As a fellow injured shoulder person I’d like to say thankyou to you wonderful peeps for this post - esp the ‘trigger point massage which I’m off to Google - Mumsnet at its finest

I bought a front fastening bra but did not realise it had a high back which shows when wearing some of my tops. It also has a lot of hooks, 8 or 10 I think, which I find difficult to fasten as they seem to snap open again before I’ve fastened them all!

You can put a crop top on with an injured shoulder, as it's what I wear post-surgery (I've had it done twice).

Slide it up the arm with the injured shoulder, over the head, then put the arm with the uninsured shoulder in. And reverse this to take it off!

I'm just impressed that anyone can get their crop top over their arse.

When I broke my humerus I bought cheap one size larger for the band bras from matalan! They're some of my faves now!

Uninjured, obvs.

Not being able to do up my bras was the trigger for me getting treatment for my rotator cuff. surgery and physio to fix it, and success was me doing up my bra again. I will never take that ability for granted again.

I've had the misfortune of breaking both my shoulders in the past two years (lucky me.) After wiping myself after using the loo after breaking the right one (sorry if tmi) I found putting my bra on/off the worst. Twisting your arm behind your back is a very complex movement. I'm very well endowed 😫and have found this bra to be comfortable and easy(ish....Still some painful movements but much better) to put on

M&S do a good zip frontbra in their very comfortable Flexifit range, but for some reason they make it hard to find on their website by not describing it correctly 🤨
Flexifit zip front bra

This is exactly what I want!! Thank you 🙂

Uniqlo does tops that have inbuilt bra that are good, if you'd consider them.

Interesting that some people say that front close ones were hard to find without underwire, as I found the opposite!! I found it really hard to get one that did have wire, after recent arm surgery and continual shoulder issues. I don't find wire super-comfortable, but I know that without it, I end up with sweaty rash under my boobs, no matter how supportive the non-wired bra claims to be. I've tried lots, and they always seem to fit fine, but then after a couple of weeks, I start noticing the soreness. My shoulders are still hurting, though I can at the moment bend them behind to get a bra done up, unless/until I need more surgery. At the moment, it's lifting my arms much or rotating them backward that I can't do, but that affects coats more!
