just that really, recommend me brands that are good but don't cost a fortune. if i had the money I'd love REN or Elemis but no such luck lol

my skin is all over the place ATM ( pregnancy hormones) dry forehead fine everywhere else with the occasional spot.

I've literally got nothing left ATM so i need
: eye cream
day moisturiser
night moisturiser
got some habo lab hyaluronic acid left.

I joined beauty pie and buy most of my stuff from there. Its all good quality and takes the brain work out for me. Got a big box every few months or all my staples plus they odd thing to experiment with. Like the spf, japanese cleanser, super healthy skin moisturiser, ceramide eye pen, vit c skin capsules. And buy all my makeup from there too.

Litgirl7 · 24/08/2023 20:54

I too like Beauty Pie, but am I alone in thinking their prices & policy have altered somewhat? The P&P is dear & a bit OTT & wasteful as is the packaging of the items. I'd like to see them offer less waste for starters & perhaps opportunities to recycle through them. Also I swear some items have got smaller...yet dearer.

Viewfrommyhouse · 24/08/2023 20:58

Geek & Gorgeous. Excellent ingredients, high street prices.

Garden of wisdom, from Victoria Health.

Crikeyalmighty · 24/08/2023 21:07

La Roche posay isn't that cheap but is good, their tinted fluid factor50 is fantastic and I use as a base

Mary46 · 24/08/2023 21:09

I use Sukin aussie brand. Really nice. Used love Clarins

hamsterchump · 24/08/2023 21:29

I just wash my face in the shower with water in the morning and use blue Nivea cream at night. I wear supermarket SPF30 if I'm going outside. I remove eye makeup with baby oil on a cotton pad.

My skin seems better than ever since giving up washing my face "properly" I don't feel the need to wear foundation or concealer any more which is so much more comfortable especially in the summer. I just usually wear some blusher, mascara and lipstick or lip balm now.

Less is more as far as I'm concerned. I'm starting to think special skincare for your face is basically a scam. Men never seem to have all the adult acne and skin trouble a lot of women have do they?

keffie12 · 24/08/2023 21:39

I use CeraVe. I use tretnoin now so need to use a gentle natural product. It is available in eye/face day, night, and cleanser. Very reasonable price. Available at boots and online, such as Amazon

hesaidshesaidtheysaid · 24/08/2023 21:49

Weleda skin food cleanser and moisturiser. It's fantastic and has no nasty ingredients. I'm late 40's and have tried all the moisturisers under the sun, this is by far the best and it's a good price. I use the skin food body moisturiser all over including my face, my skin has never been better

snowlady4 · 24/08/2023 22:03

I've been using skin&me. It's £3.50 for a one month trial- easy to cancel if you don't want to continue at £30 a month. Really simple to use. Check it out. You get some free products with trial box too.

Another vote for Sukin . I've very reactive skin and a dermologist recommended it.

milkydress · 24/08/2023 22:31

Good old Nivea!

Persiana · 24/08/2023 22:34

I like Cetaphil. It's gentle. The night moisturizer is lovely and the day is factor 50. The cleanser is gentle but effective too

My DM had a similar regime to you with Nivea in the blue pot and had little to no wrinkles for ages (she was a sun worshipper). Her DM (my nana) used Ponds Cold Cream and kept her face out of the sun and used high facial spf and again no wrinkles or few. They both kept a lower weight, DM 9 stone at 5ft6 and nana under 5ft and a size 6-8. Both women drank alcohol and smoked through my DM stopped smoking at 30 and was teetotal from 55.

The inkey list stuff is affordable and really good quality. I use their dewy sunblock, the peptide moisturiser and loads of other bits - I pick them up when I get offers through. If you sign up to texts and emails you quite frequently get codes sent through.

Second Inkey. I love the hyaluronic acid serum, retinol, and the vitamin c moisturiser.

LRP is good but I got a anbre Solaris (or garnier) facial spf which is cheaper than LRP and that was just as good as LRP. Currently using Bioearth one (paid for with H&B points) also good.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 24/08/2023 23:02

La Roche Posay

I wouldn't say that's a budget brand, you could only get two items for £50.

The Ordinary is good, and the Superdrug range that looks like The Ordinary is too.

Looblou72 · 24/08/2023 23:25

Definitely recommend The ordinary for value and results

Nonbio46 · 25/08/2023 08:04

I haven’t read all the comments but I recommend the Superdrug B range to lots of people. It’s really good and usually on offer. As a bonus it’s not tested on animals and is vegan friendly. 😊

Nuffaluff · 25/08/2023 12:09

Anyone wanting to try Sukin - I often see it in TKMaxx for an even better price!
it smells lovely and feels luxurious for the price point.
To be, the fragrance and feel of skincare is one of the most important things as I don’t believe most of their miracle claims.

Delphigirl · 25/08/2023 12:11

cerave for skin ckeanising and moisturising
la roche posay for spf
the ordinary for serums

Imabitbusyatthemoment · 25/08/2023 12:22

I tried the Aldi range and thought it was rubbish.

For decent products on a budget I would recommend The Ordinary for the ‘actives’ - retinoids, vit C, hyaluronic acid + peptides etc (depending on your skin concern - free advice via the website chat) alongside Sukin for lovely organic, vegan cleansers and day/night creams. And don’t forget your factor 50 suncream - every day.

N0tfinished · 25/08/2023 14:51

Byoma - it's at boots. I really like everything I've gotten.

I second M and S Pure. Very good value.
I particularly love the cleansing balm which has a lovely texture and rose scent. Only £12.

Thirding M&S Pure. The day and night creams are great, and I also like the balm. I'm 50s with dry skin.
