This time I’m really going to do it!

I’ve just received a copy of the curated closet which I am going to read from cover to cover. I’m going to donate or sell at least a 1/3rd of my clothes. I’ve booked a styling appointment at John Lewis for later in the autumn. I will only buy new clothes if they 1. Fit 2. Suit me and 3. Suit my lifestyle.
This time I’m going to do it. No excuses!

Does anyone want to join me?

@gingercat02 I thought it was worth the money, mine was about 7 quid. The exercises helped me to focus on what I had and what I wanted. Though I still want to buy lots of prints and patterns 😆

There was a little pile of summer clothes that didn't make the holiday cut and things I haven't worn while I was here, so I guess they could be first to go!
I might brave Pinterest by the pool this morning

I've been quite ruthless as it's the end of term. I had a few things for school that I didn't really like, didn't suit me, didn't go with much but I'd worn anyway. So I've added them to vinted. I'll worry about what I'm actually going to wear next summer term, next summer term.

I realised that most of the outfits I added to Pinterest were very similar and that I liked/needed prints and patterns, I'm not a block colour person.

I did this a few years ago and keep it up regularly but mistake buys are very rare nowadays so it's mainly discarding worn out items.
I actually took it further and now have a curated house! (Only have things I love and suit our lifestyle)
This year I retired early so out went the last of my work stuff.

The Curated Closet is arriving this evening 😀

Evening. I’ve just reduced the prices on my Vinted pieces. Anything is better than nothing, so hopefully they will sell.

and I find I buy much less ‘it’ll do ‘ stuff and more items that I love and get a buzz out of wearing

@Mercedesbenz2022 thats what I want to be able to do. It’s going to be a struggle though. Even now, I’m looking at the online sales thinking ‘wow! that’s a bargain - I must get that’. I’ve resisted so far and sold two more things on Vinted. Vinted sales are now at £130ish 👍

Yes I look at the sales , and then I also think , yeah shorts ( or whatever ) half price , then I do a little quiz with myself

I'm so pleased it worked for you @Mercedesbenz2022 . I feel the same, everything is much more considered. I wore a few things for school last term that I knew weren't right but I didn't have anything to replace them with. They've now gone onto vinted and I'll look for the right replacement next spring.

About to pick the book up and think about winter clothes. How is everyone else doing?

Just back from holiday, so Vinted was set to holiday mode. As usual, I took far too many clothes and shoes. I did spend the week looking at what other women were wearing and listing what looked good or not. I also realised what outfits looked good on me and what was suitable for that type of holiday, so a bit of progress. I’ve bought two new things recently, but (hear me out 😉), I did love them and they would go with other things in my wardrobe. One item was a beautiful pair of silk palazzo pants that you wouldn't find in this country.
The summer/ holiday clothing will be going back in the attic next weekend, so I hope to chuck a few more things away.
