One Hundred Stars sale is on

Just had an email, the One Hundred Stars sale is now on. Some of the dressing gowns are around half price, there are other items reduced, but it’s often the gowns that are recommended on here. It’s down to S&B I found them in the first place 😊anyway I’ve just ordered the Indian lily which was £35.

DMs kimono was bought a few months ago but at least I got to see the material. They had all the maps back in June for gowns and short kimonos. They come and go fairly quickly.

YorkieTheRabbit · 10/08/2023 18:37

Mine arrived today but I’ve not had chance to open it yet. I’ll have to wait until later.

my rachel top and belt xame yesterday, lovely items. Am a 14/16 and got m/l and it fits well. Not massive at all, can't see hiw it would fit larger sizes.

HelloChompy · 11/08/2023 08:10

I ordered the black espadrilles, which arrived yesterday. I ordered my normal size, I've never been a wide fit but I don't think I have ever seen such narrow shoes! I've never had espadrilles before and have since read that they are often very tight initially and then give a bit but I have to say I am dubious!

Hope that you got some good stuff @YorkieTheRabbit 😊

LilyRose88 · 11/08/2023 13:05

My two Rachel dresses arrived today. I am a 14/16 apple shape and ordered size M/L which fits me well. I am keeping one of the dresses (green scarf print) and returning the other (sweet pea print) as the colour doesn't suit me.

They are lovely dresses but they do have a weird pointy bit at around waist level at the front. They also both arrived very creased. I've decided that I don't mind the pointy bit as it isn't really noticeable and the dress does drape beautifully.

LadyBird1973 · 11/08/2023 13:16

I still haven't even had a dispatch email. Hope mine arrives soon!

Me neither

YorkieTheRabbit · 12/08/2023 11:21

My order was dispatched Tuesday and arrived Thursday via Royalmail. I bought the Kew Indian lily gown and it’s beautiful.

I got a dispatch email last night. Tracking wasn't working though.

Does anyone use Shop app to track stuff?

Nitgel · 12/08/2023 20:19

Shop never seems to be up to date for me, my order came from royal mail and that tracking was reliable.

Spirallingdownwards · 12/08/2023 20:25

I already had a Rachel dress and an Abbi dress as well as kimonos so ordered an extra Abbi at a bargain price and a gown at £25 for a present!

To the one who asked about quality it's beautiful

SocksAndTheCity · 12/08/2023 21:28

I've just ordered the Lily gown thanks to the enabling power of the thread 😊.

My map of Venice gown is looking a bit tatty round the edges after 5-6 years of wearing pretty regularly, so a new one will be nice to have. I'd agree that the quality is lovely; I even washed mine in the machine without thinking not long after I got it and it survived (thank God it was on cold).

GCAcademic · 14/08/2023 10:21

My order arrived today. The Abbi dress in S/M was more than adequate (I'm a curvy 14) but the pockets and excess fabric at the hips was sadly very unflattering, making my (already ample) hips look massive. So that's going back. I'm going to keep the gown, after some deliberation - it's lovely but the fabric is very thin.

LadyBird1973 · 14/08/2023 10:26

I'm still waiting for mine. Tracking on Royal Mail says they are unable to locate the status of my delivery and try again tomorrow. Been like that for days! Am hoping it's not lost because my order is out of stock now!

Cinnamonandcoal · 14/08/2023 22:18

Shift dress arrived, can confirm one size is accurate for me (size 14-16, 34JJ). It feels lovely on. I may take it in a little at the waist for a more flattering shape but it's basically fine as it is. £30 bargain

Pigtailsandall · 18/08/2023 16:05

Right, inspired by this thread (and a glass or two of wine) I bought one of the sale tops to try on. All my nicer work tops are yonks old now and I wanted something with a bit of colour.

BUT. The quality is awful! It arrived today, wrinkled in a cheap plastic bag, smelling strongly of what I can only imagine a mass-production line at a huge clothing factory smells like - kind of industrial and chemical. I can't imagine I could ever get the wrinkles off.

The colour is also off - the top I bought was pink and grey, this is most certainly light blue with sort of yellow/brown pattern. There's one splash of pink under the arm, unhelpfully.

I've seen the brand get a lot of love on MN before, and I wonder why. It looks like it wouldn't even last one wash.

EachandEveryone · 20/08/2023 16:31

The Rachel dress arrived and its horrible! Its so not flattering. Understandable when its a size 14-22. There is no occasion I would wear it for. The colours are insipid and the style is frumpsville.

YorkieTheRabbit · 20/08/2023 17:43

@Pigtailsandall Oh that’s a shame. I’ve got two dressing gowns, both of which arrived folded and in plastic bags. Neither had a smell and the creases dropped out just from hanging up.
The material is thin but I’ve had no problems at all. I got the Venice map in June and I’ve worn it most days.
That being said, I’ve never tried any of the clothing as it’s not my style, so can’t comment on the quality.

I absolutely hate having to pay for returns as well as having to make my own label. Really puts me off shopping.

LadyBird1973 · 20/08/2023 22:12

I hate paying for returns too. If we've paid for deliver returns should be free! Fair enough if delivery was free in the first place but it shouldn't cost at both ends.

Pigtailsandall · 21/08/2023 10:11

Interesting to see the comments here - the robe is so thin I expect it to rip as soon as I wear it but judging by the comments people think it is actually decent?

The top is sturdier, but it had no care instructions so unsure how to wash it. I'm debating if to keep it - I like the shape a lot, but I'm not sure how it takes to washing and ironing and it would be an expensive mistake if I wrecked it immediately

LadyBird1973 · 21/08/2023 20:11

I wouldn't iron it. Wash it on a gentle cycle and don't spin it too much and hopefully it won't be crinkly.

GCAcademic · 21/08/2023 20:32

Nearly all (if not all) their clothes are hand wash only, aren't they? I'm hoping that the hand wash setting on the washing machine will do. Though I am worried by the thinness.

LadyBird1973 · 21/08/2023 21:06

I've washed the short jacket thing I've had for a few years years in the washing machine and it's fine. But tbh the robes do seem more delicate to me.
I'm unlikely to hand wash though - I'm going to risk a gentle machine wash.

I've had one of their scarves for years. I hand wash it and iron it. It's fine.
