Has anyone suffered from Plantar Facilitis and found some really comfy shoes. I'm on my feet all day in Healthcare but I also go outside so Crocs not suitable and they have to be all black.
It's sheer agony! :-(

People who have tried a night splint, which type did you try?

PandaGrump · 02/08/2023 22:28

Have you been to a podiatrist? Mine prescribed insoles that solve most shoe problems.

thisbathiscoldnow · 02/08/2023 22:30

I've been suffering from this for about 18 months now - it's horrible!

I've found some arch supports on Amazon 3/4 High Arch Support Insoles... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09BDZ12WV?ref=ppxpoppmobappshare which really alleviate the pressure on your heel/ arch when you're on your feet all day.

Now going to look at fitflop trainers after reading this!

whysorude · 02/08/2023 22:31

I second Ecco shoes

TheSproutOfWrath · 02/08/2023 22:31

I swear by my Hotters. Really helps a lot at work.

LozzaChops101 · 02/08/2023 22:32

Blundstones are the only thing that fixed mine, having tried everything!

gotmychristmasmiracle · 02/08/2023 22:34

Jeevesnotwooster · 02/08/2023 22:38

New Balance 574.

Also Birkenstock cork/felt slippers for inside.

Twinklewonderkins · 03/08/2023 16:02

I’ve had this a couple of times, tried everything to get rid of it with no luck.
someone recommended these insoles

Dr. Scholl’s Heel Pain Relief Orthotics // Clinically Proven to Relieve Plantar Fasciitis, Heel Spurs and General Heel Aggravation (for Men's 8-12, Also Available for Women's 5-12) https://amzn.eu/d/edw5LbN

They got rid of about 95% of it within a couple of weeks.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 03/08/2023 16:12

Also, fitflops flip flops, shoes, trainers and boots and no barefoot walking.

I have cheap half-foot insoles from the chemist to to provide arch support, which seems to help.

LancsHotpot · 03/08/2023 18:14

Hoka Kaha walking shoes worked for me - pricey but worth every penny!

NowItsSpring · 03/08/2023 19:23

Vionic trainers worked for me - first pair from QVC so 60 days to try out and have since picked up a couple of brand new pairs on sling sites. Also saw a physio who gave me some exercises and with persistence I no longer have any pain.

NowItsSpring · 03/08/2023 19:23

Selling sites!

mangopassionfruitlatte · 03/08/2023 19:58

Vionics.

moanybird · 03/08/2023 19:58

Toffeln shoes are amazing. I wear them at work (clinic with hard floors and I have PF). They come with a variety of insoles. Not the prettiest but they last no bother on a 12hr shift.

Enko · 03/08/2023 20:04

Allegria shoes helped me. I don't find vionics good for more than 1 day wear.

They do Allegria in black but it is not a cheap option.

At home I wear fitflops or birkenstock

I cant wear trainers

FannythePinkFlamingo · 03/08/2023 20:11

Fitflop Rally, Crocs, Pro 11 insoles and NEVER going barefoot has improved mine no end. Three months ago I was in agony, but using all of the above has practically cured it.

lookingforMolly · 03/08/2023 20:11

Hi @Dancerr I'm an HCA on the wards suffering agony from PF too! Im wearing a years old (all black) but never worn pair of my Mums Clarks trainers at work with removable insoles which Ive replaced with good arch support insoles from Amazon.
My only other trainers with removable insoles are my flatform Adidas Superstars so I'm wearing those with arch support insoles outside work.
At work I take ibuprofen tds & co codamol 8/500 qds it barely touches the pain!

The occupational health Physio has given me stretching exercises which can be found on YouTube, also recommends using a bottle of ice from the freeezer to roll your foot on every night for ten minutes.

The issue is I've not been doing the things the physio recommends as I've been too depressed; firstly as my new epilepsy med has made me feel quite depressed (it's a side effect of the tablets and I'm prone to depression) also due to waiting over 2.5 weeks for breast biopsy results! So I've been just lying in bed when I'm not out & about. Got another physio appointment on Monday and will get told off I know.

Also she said get put on light duties but my Clinical Leader said 'everyone' has PF (yes quite a few people complain about it but I'm the only one actually limping).
Plus I don't drive. Fed up.

wetpebbles · 03/08/2023 20:19

Hi I had this all last year and after finally seeing the Physio he recommended alternate cold and warm foot baths (as hot or cold as you can comfortably manage)which really relieved my discomfort. Submerge foot for a few minutes in each bath for approx 10mins
I also had exercises and wore inserts and a night brace
It's cleared up at last but I get twinges if I walk around bare foot
My chiropractor said if it reoccurs to go see him as he has a cure!

wetpebbles · 03/08/2023 20:20

Submerge foot a minute in each bath for total 10mins⬆️⬆️⬆️

Phineyj · 03/08/2023 20:21

I'm a long term sufferer and also a teacher so on my feet a lot.

At work I wear Hotter Jewel style (discontinued, lucky I own 6 pairs eh?!) but Hotter generally v good for arch support and longevity.

I like Decathlon trainers. I've had various styles (I like the running ones as well ventilated) and they are cheap yet well made.

areyouhavinglaugh · 03/08/2023 20:23

I just wear Nike air max now! Never get it ilea's I'm coming down with something awful 🤷🏼‍♀️
