Since I was pregnant (my dd is now 3.3) I have only ever worn flat shoes you know the reason comfy easy to chase after child, I do lots of walking etc etc.

However now I would like something a little bit more womanly sexy etc with a bit of a heel, but not crippingly high.

I am 5ft tall have dainty size 3 feet with a slim ankle. (Legs above knee are another matter .

I mainly wear jeans casual as sahm. Am going to canary islands for break shortly so wanted something I could use there.

Am I thinking along the right lines with some sort of strappy wedge or am I way off the mark?

Don't do shorts because of thighs but will wear skirts and dresses on hols.

Thanks

wedges v good
you can probably get away with an ankle strap

MrsBadger · 26/02/2008 13:11

this kind of thing?

not uber-summery due to closed toe

oranges · 26/02/2008 13:12

oh those are horrible (sorry)

firstmum45 · 26/02/2008 13:14

Thanks Mrs Badger I'm glad I'm not totally out of the fashion loop!

I know my next problem will be find a size 3 lots of high street stockists only seem to start at a 4. They always look at you as if you are deformed when I tell them my shoe size

nailpolish · 26/02/2008 13:19

nailpolish · 26/02/2008 13:21

nailpolish · 26/02/2008 13:22

next have tons actually

Tutter · 26/02/2008 13:22

arf at naily's skyscarper wedges

read her post woman

MrsBadger · 26/02/2008 13:23

I am biased cause /I can't wear open toes for work so find myself drawn to closed onwes

and naily if she hasn't worn heels for 4yrs those blue ones will cripple her

besides they're hardly spring shoes

nailpolish · 26/02/2008 13:23

i ignored that bit

nailpolish · 26/02/2008 13:24

thats what id weear anyway

Tutter · 26/02/2008 13:27

office have several bargain wedgey espadrille affairs

buit all are teetery platformy ones that would put you in a&e

Kbear · 26/02/2008 13:28

I've been out trying shoes on - bloody hate shoes, they hurt, you just know they're gonna rub blisters the size of spaceships on your heels and toes.

Roll on winter.!!! Chumfy boots. Bliss.

nailpolish · 26/02/2008 13:28

why are hte blue ones not spring shoes?

firstmum45 · 26/02/2008 13:29

ladies thanks for your ideas.

Mr Badger at first look the stripy boden ones are not my taste however they also do a red spotty pair which is me.

Nailpolish I love those red peeptoe ones from next but I wonder if they might be a bit too high for practical use with a small child as Mrs Badger is quite right not worn heels for four years.

Might consider open toe whilst not practical for spring in uk will come in for summer and with the boden price I can surely afford more than one pair

open toes
chilly and means early-seaason pedi and blanched white feet

spring means no socks but closed toes chez badge

Tutter · 26/02/2008 13:30

ok these don't exactly fit the brief either

but could look sweet with fadey jeans

nailpolish · 26/02/2008 13:30

not wedges but i really like them

nailpolish · 26/02/2008 13:31
