Bra for floppy breasts

MinnieMountain · 15/07/2023 12:54

I had rather depressing session at M&S looking for new bras yesterday. I’m 44, my breasts are floppy and most of the tissue is below the nipples IYSWIM. My skin is wrinkly when they’re pushed up.

I’m definitely a 32D but where the heck do I get a non-ugly supportive bra that fits well?

I've ha a bit of a look for you and it looks like you would be best off in a full coverage bra ort a balconette

MinnieMountain · 15/07/2023 15:10

Thank you @GettingStuffed . I’m thought so too, so having tried on 4 different bras in various sizes at M&S I’m after specific recommendations.

These are so good - so comfortable, 100% cotton and wash like a dream.

I bought a pack of 2 - only £14 for two bras and having had them for a week went back and bought 2 more packs.

Bravissimo is your friend here as I think you will have to try a few on.

I like Fantasie Rebecca.

bellac11 · 15/07/2023 17:35

Yep, same here, I find nothing holds them up, the nipples face the floor and they grew like that, its not like they dropped anywhere!!

If I have an underwired where they are 'held up', its like the skin of a blamanche or custard wobbling on top, theres no flesh as such, just wrinkly skin

Im laughing at the idea of balconette in this situation!!!

Sandydune · 15/07/2023 17:45

Definitely look at Bravissimo.

Doggymummar · 15/07/2023 17:47

I'm very similar and wear the Satine at Bravissimo

rookiemere · 15/07/2023 17:47

I find the M&S minimiser bras are really good.

annijes · 15/07/2023 17:59

I’ve struggled for years with this problem (G size!!) and tried M&S, Bravissimo and others. I was in London for a few days and made an appointment at Rigby and Peller, was measured and put into a Bella Donna bra - I couldn’t believed the difference it made and have always worn them since. I was horrified by the price which was £70, even though they are well made, but I wait for sales or offers so I don’t have to pay full price.

RainRains · 15/07/2023 18:06

Elomi Morgan bra. It’s so supportive.

Badger1970 · 15/07/2023 18:12

Elomi bras are really well structured and last really well.

I don't get on with M & S bras for whatever reason - they just never properly fit no matter how many sizes I try.

Mochacino · 15/07/2023 18:18

Hear me out…. The Primark t shirt bra. I got it for 8quid. I sister sized as they don’t do FF cup and after years of paying an absolute fortune on bras I’ve found it. I can’t remember if it had a slightly fancier name or not but it is in their D+ range.

Gettingbysomehow · 15/07/2023 18:19

M and s bras are awful now. They give you monoboob unless you are exceptionally perky or have breast implants. I never buy them.
I had the same problem prior to a breast uplift and found balconette bras the best. Great shape and uplift with no falling out of the middle of the bra.
Also the good old Doreen bra for fantastic shape under a jumper or higher necked tops.

Bananaman123 · 15/07/2023 18:21

Elomi, best bras I’ve ever used

bellac11 · 15/07/2023 18:22

One thing I hate about a lot of bras is that the strap often comes up from the outer side of the bra cup, meaning its right on the edge of your shoulders. If you have no shoulders or very sloping ones like me, they just constantly fall off

Some designs have the strap coming up from the more centre of the cup which is more comfortable

MinnieMountain · 15/07/2023 18:40

Exactly @bellac11 it’s like a custard skin.
The Satine looks like a nice balance @Doggymummar I'll give that a try.
Otherwise it’s going to be a trip to Rigby and Peller rather than a museum the next time I go to London.
Elomi look good but they don’t do my size.

Empreinte

UncleRadley · 15/07/2023 18:44

I like the scallop edge no padding full cup bras from Next. I've brought three in the nude colour. I can't wear anything that uplifts or padded anymore as it cuts my boob in half and makes them look bulgy. I've been measured but still can't get them to work. Full cup fives a nice silhouette if you're prepared to give up cleavage forever!

Ecci · 15/07/2023 18:58

I'm just the same. I've found a great bra fron Bravissimo, Royce Charlotte non wired. It very supportive and totally comfortable. Im a 34G so quite hard to find good comfortable bras. Tried M&S they were rubbish.

Psychonabike · 15/07/2023 20:31

I really like sugarcandy bras at the moment. Everything feels comfortable, supported, rounded and high, without feeling folded or forced into a shape that isn't really natural for my age 47 3xbreastfedbabies boobs.

Fixyourself · 15/07/2023 21:05

If m&s measured you then the probably gave you the wrong size. Use 'boob or bust' calculator to find your right size- this will help with holding them in.

Bollindger · 15/07/2023 21:21

Go to Primarks. Find out by trying some on the right bra that fits your body, one finger between body and bra always works best, then just try same style going up in cup size till you find that, then just try every style in your size till you get one you like. Also try Asda. Their range might shock you. Also go see Anne Summer, they are amazing at helping you find a good bra.

Gunpowder · 15/07/2023 21:22

I’ve got similar slightly sad boobs and am a 32D. Every time I go to rigby and peller they fit me in a Prima Donna half cup balconette. Marie Jo is the other brand they recommend.

bellac11 · 15/07/2023 21:25

I would love to know how a balconette works when you dont have breast tissue to fill it?
