Help me to feel less frumpy please!

So after 2 children I've gone from a size 12/14 to 16/18...I'm only 5ft 2 and do not carry it well at all. I have a large bust, wide bum, c section pouch tummy and large thighs. I'm trying to get fitter, but in the meantime how can I feel more stylish? I'm looking for new jobs and when looking at new clothes feel so frumpy and dumpy in everything! It's really affecting my confidence. I'm early 40's, not sure I have a particular style but if I had to would say classic with a hint of Boho, or a bit rock/edgy. My redeeming features are a nipped in waist (in relation to everything else!). My face is also fairly slim (again...in comparison!), and striking Mediterranean features. Help please?

I’m also 5 ft 2, 34 H and a similar size to you OP. I’ve discovered Cos this last year. Flattering, well made, good value and a little bit edgy. They’ve a sale on now. I bought two pairs of culottes and two silk tops recently that I’ve worn loads for work plus a great mini dress. Echo the need for a decent bra - I got fitted after nap y first baby at Rigby and Peller and it was a game changer.

I was a size 18 OP with a great fondness for Cos and Scandi style but have to be honest I was not able to fit into all their 44s. You would definitely need to go and try on ( because some of the cuts are a bit unusual / asymmetric ). Arket is in the same vein but simpler. I like Monki too but you really have to look at the fabrics because they can be a bit synthetic. My other recommendations would be M&S actually if you are selective. I’d keep it super simple - no big prints or patterns. Choose a nice 3 colour colour palette that you feel good in ( whatever that is for you ). If you have social media I can recommend a couple of minimalist accounts which might help you see the options with a few items.

Actually that's a good call about M&S. Go into one of those huge stores and they have some good stuff, lots of sizes. You can keep it simple with clean lines if you wish.

Have a look at fabfatand40plus on Instagram. More casual wear but she has some lovely floaty dresses and skirts that would look great with a blazer for Interview.
