A suncream FOR THE LOVE OF GOD that is unsticky.

We are on holiday. We have sun creams from 3
different companies (standard wander into Boots, factor 50) that claim to be unsticky but that is a LIE a disgraceful, dishonest, outrageous lie.

Sand was stuck upon my décolletage and I had the heeby-jeebies all the live long day.

Urgh and the splayed toes xlevel-eleven.

is there a factor 50 sun cream that repels sand and that hideous tacky stickiness?

Its this or wear some sort of shroud on the beach.

A suncream FOR THE LOVE OF GOD that is unsticky.

Ambre Solaire Sensitive Advanced. Not only does it actually sink in, turns out it makes an amazing primer for under eye concealer in the process 🤷

OP - which creams did you try. I'm just about to start trying supposed non sticky creams, and it would be good to know which ones aren't any good.

Hollyhead · 27/06/2023 22:23

Boots soltan but factor 30 not 50. 50 is overkill if (and only if)you make sure it’s also a 5star uva rating.

Yes. Garnier.

This is for the entire body.

I wish for sand to be repelled from my entire person, not just falling off, casual like. Actually propelled outward like a a Star Trek force field.

I’m currently (inexplicably) rewatching the 1980s tv series of Robin of Sherwood on DVD right now. Imagine Robin fighting Little John with big sticks in a river. Like that. But sun cream vs sand.

Have tried (this holiday) x2 different types from garnier and one from boots (and dds are on the chaepo Sainsbury’s) ;. Sand magnetically attracted to upper norks and clavicular zone.

All I want is not to get burned and for nothing to be stuck to my person.
How hard can this be?

Well, your not going to get that are you. Maybe realign your expectations a bit?

You need P20

Hollyhead · 28/06/2023 20:36

P20 only has a 3 star uva rating, consider whether you’re happy for your skin to be exposed to 40% of the rays that cause cancer.

You have to die of something 🤷🏼‍♀️

Source, because their own website and the packaging in my bathroom gives 5* UVA rating. 🙄

LostMySocks · 28/06/2023 20:47

Try applying suncream a bit before you get anywhere near the sand. Once it has sunk in it is less sticky.
Also talcum powder is a game changer for removing sand.

ditchingtherat · 28/06/2023 20:47

Boots soltan, the moisturising one that's SPF 30. 5 star uva and uvb unlike most others. 30 is pretty much as good as 50.

hermioneee · 28/06/2023 21:43

Ultra Sun or P20. They are both completely non sticky. Sand will not stick I swear.

Belmondo · 28/06/2023 21:46

The trust is very good and I don't find it sticky at all. The spray most ones from Aldi and Lidl are good too, as is the Garnier Invisible Fresh clear spray oil-type one.

Belmondo · 28/06/2023 21:46

*The Altruist (not The trust!)

YouPutTheScrewInTheTuna · 28/06/2023 21:53

@LostMySocks talcum powder is carcinogenic though! Best avoided, shame as it smells amazing and is very useful otherwise.
