Which dress for a summer wedding?

Hi

Which dress would be your favourite for a summer wedding? And any ideas for colour shoes/bag?

Haven't been dressed up for a long time and recently lost 4 stone in weight so I'm feeling totally alien atm as to what style suits.

The second photo shows a close up of the front of the green dress.

The middle one, by far. The other 2 are just a bit ordinary.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 25/06/2023 10:17

3 or 1 definitely not the green, the neckline is very odd on you ,it's only the colour that is nice.

Whataretheodds · 25/06/2023 10:19

Send back 1 and 3 as they're not right for you.

I like 2 you could hang onto it and see if you like the fit better in August. For a wedding you don't want to be wearing something you can't eat in. I would accessorise with gold or bronze block heel sandals.

There will be other stuff out there too.

Congrats- it sounds as though you've been working hard.

I think the first one is nice and a lovely colour, but you can see your bra through the chiffon top so you'd have to wear a very good nude bra (it would still show a bit). It's also a tiny bit short on you, I think.

The second is lovely. I think the length and the colour look great and I'd accessorize with light gold (not harsh dark shiny gold) accessories.

The third is a pretty floral, but the floral along combination of bias cut skirt and low cleavage combined together is slightly old-fashioned. I'm not sure it fits you the best around the chest area.

Persiana · 25/06/2023 10:24

To me the pink one 100% is most flattering due to the shape, but I love the green colour of the second one. I think the first looks a bit like a bridesmaid dress?

MumUndone · 25/06/2023 10:24

Floral. It looks more summery and the neckline is flattering.

mintich · 25/06/2023 10:24

3

dudsville · 25/06/2023 10:25

You've made 3 excellent choices. I prefer the green, but they all really suit you.

OverTheCountryClub · 25/06/2023 10:29

I don't really like 1 - I think the neckline is unflattering and makes you look top heavy. 2 is gorgeous, very elegant. I also like 3 - the shape of it really suits your figure. So 2 or 3 for me!

IrisBearded · 25/06/2023 10:30

Ok if the fit of no 3 is flattering but not the pattern. How about this one?

I'm quite fair, light hair and mid 40's.

One is a lovely dress for a wedding, you’ve got enviable arms and slim legs. Once you have shoes on it’ll probably sit a bit differently as well.

Three is a standout fit, makes you look like an hourglass goddess and I think having a bit of décolletage in a longer dress is a good thing (personally) but I really ain’t sure about the florals, it’s a dress thing not a you thing. Do they have it another colour/pattern?

Two is too high in the neck, proportion isn’t quite right across the middle either. It’s a lovely dress but does the least for you somehow.

am away to do some press-ups 🤩

FrillyGoatFluff · 25/06/2023 10:33

Number two is too heavy for august, more autumny wedding with that fabric and colour. You don't want to be a sweaty mess!

Three is a great fit and v flattering, but quite mumsy...

One is nice, but definitely a strapless bra and bold accessories to funk it up.

I'd go for one!

Have a great time 😊

sevenbyseven · 25/06/2023 10:34

The first for me. I'm not keen on the fabric of the second or the shape/ fit of the third.

ActDottie · 25/06/2023 10:35

The first one, I also think it looks most comfy for then heat!

Peachy66 · 25/06/2023 10:44

Pink floral looks lovely.

Time40 · 25/06/2023 10:45

The pink floral - the shape is great for you, and it's really pretty. Can you sew? You could add a little piece of matching fabric across the bottom of the neckline (I've done that to lots of too-low tops).

The green is a good second choice, but I think you might be too hot.

Get rid of the first one, the grey. It's an awful shape and does nothing for you.

DeflatedAgain · 25/06/2023 10:53

1 or 2.

Arwen720 · 25/06/2023 10:54

All look lovely, but I think the short green dress is the nicest

Doggymummar · 25/06/2023 10:55

I'm surprised three is from Mango. I thought mango was for the 18 -30 age group and that dress is really old fashioned. I could see my mum in her 70s or nan in her 90s being happy in that. As I said before second one is best and as you are infpdoors the Aircon is likely to be freezing so no worries about being too hot.

I have never known anyone to look good in that style unless they are the size and shape of the model.

Pollymollydolly · 25/06/2023 11:07

The ghost one you just linked is gorgeous - it has a bit of a 1930s feel. I love the yellow but also think the cornflower blue would look beautiful with your colouring.

newtb · 25/06/2023 11:20

Number 3

maranella · 25/06/2023 11:22

I'd go for one of the green ones. You have great boobs, but I'm not sure a wedding is the right event to show them to everyone Grin

MissingMoominMamma · 25/06/2023 11:24

Go green!! 💚
