Do companies exist who can sell my clothes for me?

I have too much stuff. I also have no time to sell it all. Do companies exist who can sell my stuff for me? I have a lot of really good high end stuff and tons of hush, me and Em, etc. I could just take it all to the charity shop and be done but I’m annoyed at myself for wasting so much cash and stuff I never way I am keen to recoup sunk costs.
Has anyone used such a service and can recommend to me? Many thanks!

Stick it on Vinted. Stick up on postage bags!

I was unimpressed with Thrift Plus. I have bought a few bits but they have all been in a dreadful state. One Hush top had a big hole in the back. I stopped using them. There are people out there who do this for a living so if you've got loads of stuff then worth researching. Hope OP got sorted as this is an old thread.

I've got several brand new items, unworn and with tags, from a wardrobe cull - I’ve got a shop very local to me that sells things on commission so I hoped that would be the answer. Unfortunately they didn’t sell so I’ve got them back….🫤

Do you have a responsible and fashion conscious niece / friend's daughter / someone who you could hire for this? They could sort all of this out for you and handle the sale, and you'll pay them for the efforts. I think this would be a great job for a teen girl looking to earn a little extra

Thank you for the replies- I will take a look at some of the ideas. We don’t seem to have a 50/50 shop around (I have never heard of them but wish we did!). I shop on Vinted but I literally want someone to sell it for me - I don’t have the time to do it myself no matter how easy.
I wonder if there is a gap in the market here for people like me that want to pay someone to sell their stuff on Vinted and eBay!

There’s someone local to us who does this. She’ll literally pick up bags full of clothes and then individually list them. She keeps a certain percentage of the cost of the items she sells

Sfxde24 · 30/08/2024 07:14

Get on your local WhatsApp or Facebook page and get a trusted teenager to do it if you don’t already know one. Have done this several times. Made a few hundred and everyone’s happy.

blink3times · 30/08/2024 07:19

I've used Sweet Pea for my children's clothes, they pay by the weight and you'll get no where near the amount you would if you used vinted/ebay but they do pay the postage. I've never used the adults one but I believe it's run by her sister.

Hi I know this is an old friend but do
you still do this? I’m also in SW London

Hoppinggreen · 26/12/2024 16:47

We have a shop in a village near here who sells designer and high end high street items dor a 50% split.
I send loads of stuff there, she is quite choosy about what she will take but I make a few hundred £ a year - or I would if I didn't take store credit instead

sarahLou101 · 30/12/2024 13:08

If you want to sell clothes without the hassle , a great way to do it is with the Haru app. Just search 'Haru' in the playstore or apple store. The app identifies your item to save you the hassle of categorising it, then will give you an instant offer. Once you're ready, post everything off at once!

CraftyLemonPoet · 05/02/2025 12:44

Am responding to this thread as I found it last year whilst searching for someone to do this incase anyone is still looking. I used Everthread in the end (found them on fb but they do have a website now).

They sold everything pretty quickly but I did have to post the clothes to them which was about £6 with Evri . But I think there commission is only 35% (might be more now) and they listed everything on vinted, ebay, depop and vestiaire so everything sold well and quick!

Much better than my local 50% shop that I've been using for years and never got much at all 😫

CheeryJoker · 08/04/2025 03:09

I’m so interested in this, I’m in Northumberland if you’re interested

Geneticsbunny · 08/04/2025 17:37

I did this and the lady just donated all my stuff to a charity shop and pretended she had lost my contact details... Be warned.

Summerhillsquare · 08/04/2025 18:20

I'll do it 😄 I'm a whizz at vinted and car boots.
