Ultra thin harem style trousers?

Bookist · 15/06/2023 12:02

Not wearing them for a fashion statement, but to try and stop the bastard mozzies from biting my ankles and legs. I'm always a sticky, sweaty mess in the heat so they need to be as thin and cool as possible.

Boho Tusk size guide is reliable. Each size covers a few dress sizes.

Not the cheapest but they are the most comfortable thing I own, I have lots of colours. The quality is much better than forgotten tribes which I have some too. They wash very well too

scoobydoo1971 · 15/06/2023 22:18

I am in this style nearly every day. I found the cheapest type on ebay don't last well in the wash as the fabric is not great. However, there are a selection of harem pants in the £20-£30 rang that have great patterns and they last ages. To be fair, I find them great for gardening and travelling.

Tauvuella · 16/06/2023 00:07

The Monsoon beach range has a few that are really thin, and some nice patterns. They come up largeer in general I find.

MorrisZapp · 16/06/2023 00:18

I've got the monsoon beach ones, definitely size down.

All my swishy harem type trousers have come from charity shops.

I have five pairs of these harem pants which are my saviours in hot weather...

I’ve just ordered these! Thanks.

Mydustymonstera · 16/06/2023 07:31

Can anyone recommend ones in cotton? I don’t want rayon or viscose. My last ones were cotton and they were so much better! Looking for ones for teen DD too

Plenty to scroll through here. Priced higher than the cheap ebay ones but not the expensive investment linen brands either. The quality looks good and price reasonable.

Hush Amie joggers. Light, incredibly comfy and to the ankle (with cute little zips). Size down by 2.

I bought a couple of pairs of these and wore them all through lockdown! They are now my summer pajama bottoms, very light and comfy with a stretchy waist. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nuofengkudu-Patterned-Elasticated-Comfortable-Trousers/dp/B07FFSGKH3/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=harems&qid=1686847830&sr=8-5&th=1&psc=1

I've got these exact trousers, bought them at the beginning of last summer for dog walks through the woods, lasted well as still wearing them.

Loads of biting insects about so need to cover up.
They're so light it feels like I'm naked from the waist down!

Bookist · 16/06/2023 11:14

Oh that's fantastic, thanks everyone. Have bought several pairs of the Forgotten Tribes harems, these could be game changing!

if you were between a 12/14 bottom would you go for the smaller or larger Forgotten Tribes?

pomeroy · 16/06/2023 14:22

I'm also looking for thin pure cotton cuffed trousers (so either harem or jogger), so in a cotton voile/muslin type fabric. Do I need to check supermarkets?

bryceQ · 16/06/2023 14:43

Buddha pants are 100% cotton. I wear them every single day. Like wearing a cloud lol

I'd go smaller. I'm a large 16 and the bigger size are perfect for me, nice and loose.

Theraffarian · 17/06/2023 07:12

I’ve ordered from forgotten tribe this morning too after having them in a basket for ages , code WELCOME10 for 10% off first orders in case anyone misses it , also I saw that they do free exchanges , I wasn’t 100% sure which size I needed , so being able to swap if needed swung it .

whateverthisis · 17/06/2023 08:50

With Forgotten Tribes can anyone say what length they are supposed to be? I just got a pair of the low crotch harem pants from there and I thought they would be full length but on me they are cropped. I'm 5'6''. Not sure if I just got a duff pair?

Theraffarian · 17/06/2023 09:56

@whateverthisis , the low crotch ones are 37” in length, the high crotch are 40” , so yes I would say low crotch are going to be a little cropped . If yours are shorter than that though I would contact them for a refund or exchange .

Cookie79 · 17/06/2023 10:52

Just taken delivery of a pair of Forgotten Tribe peacock ones. Lovely and comfy but smart enough too.

(Shakes fist at you all for making me spend money 😆)

Lovely postcard with the return instructions too which will go with my newly decorated living room so will find a way to reuse that I think.

whateverthisis · 17/06/2023 13:58

@Theraffarian thank you, off to measure them now!

whateverthisis · 17/06/2023 15:27

Just measured and mine are 35 inches rather than 37 so much more cropped than they are meant to be. Going to return them - thank you.

I got one in each size and ended up returning both! Large were too voluminous. Small were ok but I wanted a bit more floaty. I didn't like how wide the waistband was.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 17/06/2023 15:43

SHEIN have lots in all different styles and materials.

UglyNess · 17/06/2023 16:05

Can anyone recommend some to fit size 20?

lampformyfeet · 27/06/2023 16:12

May Alan have them in plain and patterned if you are on a budget.
