Does it really last 9 months?

marina · 21/02/2008 14:27

Yes
You only need a dab on your fingertips and the pot is full to the brim when new

SheikYerbouti · 21/02/2008 14:29

For a cheapy one, Avon doa a good one. It's about 3 quid and called Completely Clean Refreshing Cleansing Gel. You only need a bit and you rinse off with warm water

My skin was dreadful 2 months ago, now it's the best its been in ages, and it deosnt make you skin feel all tight after.

scattyspice · 21/02/2008 14:37

Pears soap. £1.50.

Cream cleansers make me spotty.

Bobbiewickham · 21/02/2008 14:45

Clarins new one is lovely.

It starts out as a gel, you put it on your face when it is dry, rub it in and it turns into an oil. Then you rinse it with water and it goes like a normal cleanser then you rinse it off.

It's gorgeous and feels lovely on your skin.

sorkycake · 21/02/2008 15:14

Eve Lom, unfortunately
tis absolutely the best (even Dh reluctantly agrees)
Smells like shoe polish according to Dh , does last yonks though.

cupcakesgalore · 21/02/2008 18:02

liz earle cleanse and polish

canadianmum · 21/02/2008 19:31

liz earle is my fave

clarins gel/oil one is too claggy for me but i will finish the tube

dermalogica ultra calming is good too

amazonianwoman · 21/02/2008 22:25

Another Eve Lom devotee, and it does last 9mths I love the smell of it, could eat it.

Liz Earle a close 2nd.

My skin isn't really oily any more, prob dehydrated cos don't drink enough & too lazy to use much moisturiser, but have some crappy post-breastfeeding spots which get worse before AF. Can't believe I still have acne at 41yrs

mrswillow · 22/02/2008 08:17

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish for me every time

EffiePerine · 22/02/2008 08:23

Boots Soft & Soothed cleanser (cheapo) with muslin cloth and warm water - I reckon you could use veg oil and muslin and still get good results. Will try the balm tho as have voucher and nearly out of the pink stuff

Boots No 7 4 in 1 wipes are great for the days you're too tired to cleanse properly - cleanser, toner, moisturiser and eye make up remover all in 1

(I would link only the Boots site is not loading atm)

hoxtonchick · 22/02/2008 08:48

eve lom is v good, i agree with everyone. i also like this molton brown one which is a bit less granular than eve lom, & smells delicious.

i also like this ren one which is very gentle & light (and even though i don't have dry skin it suits mine fine).

EffiePerine · 22/02/2008 09:02

That MB stuff look slovely - will add it to present list

hoppybird · 22/02/2008 11:40

After many years of using Dove soap on my combination skin with no problems, I skin suddenly changed to being dry and sensitive due to pregnancy (and age as well, I imagine)

I tried Liz Earle and found it stripped my skin and made it even drier - I don't remember what's in it now, but there are some irritants in there which aren't listed on the website but are on the tube - it's not quite as 'natural' as they imply!

I investigated various others, was surprised at the ingredients of Eve Lom - main ones are baby oil (ie liquid paraffin) and alcohol! Lush ultrabland looked good, but contained peanut oil, wanted to avoid this in pregnancy.

I eventually found Beauty and the Bees Honey and Coconut cream cleanser £8.95 for a small jar, (I get a large jar, which last months, for £30). It is truly natural and fab for my type of skin. And it's endorsed by Dannii Minogue lol!

sfxmum · 22/02/2008 14:06

Lush ultrabland but with muslin cloth in the evening and to remove make up

use a scrub in the morning

GetOrfMoiLand · 22/02/2008 14:12

You are all making me feel like captain skank.

I use Tesco/Boots/Whatever wipes at night, then wash my face with shampoo whilst in the shower in the morning. I put cream on after on both occasions so skin doesn't feel dry.

Sod all this muslin cloths or cotton wool balls mullarkey

ArrietyClock · 22/02/2008 14:13

Argh! One of those threads that make me realise I am not a Proper Woman.

I use water. Out the tap. It has, um, water in it. 100%(ish) in fact. Generally non toxic I believe. Also excitingly multipurpose as you can drink it too.

Dropdeadfred · 22/02/2008 14:16

Another vote for Liz earle for me...although once washed those muslims never feel the same..too soft I like them new and crisp!

ProfessorGrammaticus · 22/02/2008 22:32

All the Dermalogica ones are good

bandgeek · 22/02/2008 22:48

I have went ahead and ordered Liz Earle cleanser after reading this thread, so I'm hoping will hve gorgeous skin in a weeks time!

My budget couldn't stretch to the Eve Lom one (£50 for a cleanser!!)

Finbar · 26/02/2008 18:12

Go to be :
Caudalie foaming face wash

Fabulous - really gentle - no parabens or nasties.
Try it!
About £12 a bottle ( availabel in most John Lewis and Space NK) - but lasts well
I wouldn't use anything else.

JackieNo · 26/02/2008 20:24

I just noticed in my Liz Earle newsletter, that they're going to be doing a men's version of the Cleanse and Polish - it said 'more details in the summer newsletter'.
