simple moisturising face wash in the morning here

simple face wipes in the evening here

I've got combination skin.

Have been using it for a while, but it's not getting rid of my blackheads so will be looking for any recommendations

RubySlippers · 20/02/2008 20:45

chocolateshoes - it has been a long and expensive quest

i heart jurlique

AmersG · 20/02/2008 20:49

For cheap Liz Earle check out QVC, they often have Liz herself on for Todays Special Values from midnight and her stuff is always reduced then...you don't get a freebie with it unlike if you order direct from her website!

Go · 20/02/2008 21:04

dove soap with water. I have dry skin and this is fine for me. use boots own facial scrub a couple of times a week to get rid of all the dead/dry stuff. lots of people comment on how good my skin looks (although I don't think so)

MrsBadger · 20/02/2008 21:19

liz earle

with a muslin

have oily skin with blocked pores that (weirdly) dries out easily

I alternate between Liz Earle, and Tisserand Tea Tree and Grapefruit skin wash - not sure what it's like for removing heavy makeup, but as I'm using Lily Lolo mineral make up, it seems to work to remove that OK. My skin's combination, but suddenly prone to alarming breakouts in places where I've never had spots before (my cheeks). The Tisserand stuff smells lovely and fresh, and we just have it by the sink as a liquid soap for hand washing, too.

chocolateshoes · 21/02/2008 13:26

RubySlippers - is that link where you get your Jurlique from?

RubySlippers · 21/02/2008 13:30

chocolate - i get my stuff from Space NK

was just looking for a link to illustrate my post so cannot vouch for them

chocolateshoes · 21/02/2008 13:40

Space NK - is that a shop or online - I have nver heard of it!

RubySlippers · 21/02/2008 13:49

you have never heard of Space NK?!

it is like the Mother Ship calling to me

link is here

try to get to a store if you can - they are usually excellent at letting you try stuff and giving samples

MrsMattie · 21/02/2008 13:53

I'm not a fan of posh cleansers (like other fancy toiletries, but not cleansers). I use cheapo Olay facial wash, or cotton wool and almond oil for deep cleansing, and that's about it.

marina · 21/02/2008 13:57

Eve Lom for me, although I agree with others than the muslin and the hot water are key
Use Clarins Pure Water all-in-one cleanser at the end of the day though, also vg

RipMacWinkle · 21/02/2008 13:57

I have sensitive, dehydrated skin and use Dermalogica Ultra Calming cleanser.

Dermalogica

Doesn't make my skin feel dry, tight, raw. I love it and my skin seems to love it. Gentle enough to be used as an eye make up remover too.

PrincessPeaHead · 21/02/2008 13:57

eve lom eve lom eve lom
nothing else even comes close
sadly (tis expensive but lasts quite well)

chocolateshoes · 21/02/2008 14:00

Thank s Ruby Slippes - there's no store anywhere near here whatsoever! Booo! But I've ordered a bottle of the cleanser. Hope it works!

MrsMattie · 21/02/2008 14:02

I have just googled Eve Lom cleanser as so many people giving it good reviews. Is this the cleanser that costs £50?

For the ultra lazy cheapo cleanser fix try Asda Essential Care Facial Wipes in sensitive, they are only 88p and do the job just fine, particularly if you are travelling. I can't link because the Asda online site is password protected.
The eye makeup remover pads in this range are also pretty good.

nailpolish · 21/02/2008 14:08

i use baby lotion, then clarins toner

nailpolish · 21/02/2008 14:09

this

marina · 21/02/2008 14:12

£50 for nine months is good value IMO
Especially if it really does suit your skin
Am going to check out the Tescos and Boots alternatives though, as I only got into Eve Lom after the M & S version was discontinued
