Where do you buy your pants and socks?

Nothing special. Just regular old pants and socks. Ones that last ok if tumbled. I'm fed up of continually buying

Pants I treated myself to some Stripe and Stare ones and they’re lush but not tumble-able so doesn’t fit your criteria.

Socks I accidentally stumbled upon Boots Bamboo ones when I needed to buy some in a hurry and they’re bloody brilliant. Soft and they don’t dig in my legs. I only own them now apart from novelty ones people buy me.

So people don't wear matching underwear?

bengalcat · 02/06/2023 19:03

Primark for both but also agent provocateur and intimissimi for pants/bras

User1328745 · 02/06/2023 19:07

Pants M&S, the single ones rather than packs
Socks, Seasalt bamboo ones, I stock up in the sale

Whatnowfgs · 02/06/2023 19:32

Would second TK max for socks.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 02/06/2023 19:41

Sloggi or Amazon. M&S and next are awful

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 02/06/2023 19:41

Socks next or m and s

StiggyZardust · 02/06/2023 19:54

Pants from Boody, bit expensive but worth it.
Socks from TKMaxx, men's bamboo socks.

User8907 · 02/06/2023 19:59

Socks from BAM (bamboo - not the most stylish colours but very comfy)
Underwear - sloggi, m&s, and the latest ones from asos surprisingly but 100% cotton!

So people don't wear matching underwear?

I wear matching colours, so all black, all white or all nude ( rarely). But not sets as the knickers usually tend to be thongs or bikinis, which I hate.

So people don't wear matching underwear?

You mean like those bra and pants sets where they have the same lace or a coloured pattern or whatever? The ones where the knickers cost at least a tenner? Hell no, for everyday that would cost a bloody fortune!

And the knickers are never that comfy.

Surely you've already worked out that most people don't wait matching sets everyday because of the hundreds of multipacks of cotton pants on sale in supermarkets and clothing stores?

User1328745 · 03/06/2023 06:47

I also never buy matching sets because the knickers are always awful, overpriced and uncomfortable.

StarlightLady · 03/06/2023 07:14

As I mentioned up thread, I buy matching sets of underwear, I get 2 pairs of knix with each new bra, one of life's extravagances for me, although I wait for sales and discontinued colours; nobody is going to say "those knickers are so last year" 😂.

I mainly go for Freya, Panache or Fantasie. I find them comfy and knowing you have something nice on underneath it all makes me feel good. I aspire to match but don't always achieve it. I supplement mainly with M&S Brazilians.

I always go for colour though, I don't own white or beige in my top drawer, it reminds me of school.

I don't like 100% cotton, overrated in my view and no stretch. I want something that moves with me.

HorribleNecktie · 03/06/2023 07:28

Bras: Bravissimo, I have a narrow back and shoulders and they cater well for that.

Pants: Boody boy shorts; very comfy

Socks: Xmas gift from DH, he gets me patterned Halloween ones.

I never buy matching sets of bras and pants, they’re not comfortable, but all of my underwear is black.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 03/06/2023 07:30

Sainsburys Tu lately for both. Have bought M&S in past but quality has gone down.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 03/06/2023 07:36

Can I just say, why do sainsburys about a year ago do some nice decent coloured comfy knickers (not for me but DM) and then they stopped?! They all sold our.

I’ve also bought F&F Tescos knickers and sometimes Zara socks. For DM who I buy socks for I tend to get White Stuff abd there’s a bamboo brand which has colours and bees etc on them you can get these in boutiques.

The last time I was in M&S recently was a month ago and I bought a comfy lace bralette and also a bralette for SIL and a lace body for me (Autogrsph). All the knickers I saw I didn’t like.

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 03/06/2023 07:51

Dunnes men's socks are great. Usually Sainsbury's for pants.

Ladyofthelake53 · 03/06/2023 07:54

Asdas lace top knickers, wash and last a long time.

lennonj · 03/06/2023 08:04

BAM for socks. Been buying their ankle socks for a long time but just bought their trainer socks and they’re so comfy and thick on the ankle.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 03/06/2023 08:27

rockpoolingtogether · 02/06/2023 19:01

So people don't wear matching underwear?

I don't.
I do not like shiny synthetic or microfibre pants. Cotton all the way! Equally, cotton bras are not robust enough for my ample knockers.

Greenbrush · 03/06/2023 08:39

Primark. Love their socks. Also they had good pants but they’ve changed the cut so I’m looking elsewhere now.

mondaytosunday · 03/06/2023 09:09

M&S, Tesco.

catconfetti · 03/06/2023 09:12

I never buy socks as I'm always given them at Christmas.

Underwear from M&S

StarlightLady · 03/06/2023 10:41

With some of the comments here about people wanting 100% cotton, the natural qualities of cotton are sadly something of a myth and those who think that it is the holy grail are somewhat deluding themselves.

After processing, using excessive amounts of water and dying there is little difference between cotton, microfibres, viscose (made largely from bamboo) and polyester.

I don't like it because it has no stretch.

QueSyrahSyrah · 03/06/2023 10:49

Pants: M&S low rise shorts.

Socks: Primark most often but sometimes White Company. I'm boom or bust on socks Grin
