Am I just being stupid- boohoo jumpsuit

Minnie123456 · 31/05/2023 22:06

Has anyone got this jumpsuit from boohoo? If so how on earth do you put it on?🙈
The straps of the jumpsuit are stitched onto the top. Am I meant to cut the stitches? Maybe the sun has went to my head but I really can't figure out how to get it on 🙈🙈

Sorry @Minnie123456 this has given me a right laugh this morning, I also didn't understand you meant the white tshirt and have spent a good 5 mins trying to politely explain you step into it and pull the straps over your arms, now I'm the one that feels stupid!

What an odd design, surely they could have held the two together with the plastic tags that price tags get stuck on with?!

Doggymummar · 01/06/2023 08:43

It's described as an all in one so I don't think you are supposed to separate them. Do you need a bigger size. I bought one from ASOS and couldn't get it down when I needed the loo. Got the next size and it was easy.

I thought the same thing 😳😆

OrlandointheWilderness · 01/06/2023 08:48

There is no logical way to put this on without snipping those stitches!

steppemum · 01/06/2023 09:01

Those stitches are NOT designed to be cut.
The coloured fabric is right through the seam!

What a strange design. No idea how you put it on!

Parisj · 01/06/2023 09:06

Well one person from Debenhams must have got it on because they reviewed it at 3 stars and didn't mention any issues.

And a five star review somewhere else says
'2-in-1 actually refers to the fact you get the jumpsuit and a very short length tee shirt to wear with it ie 2 separate items of clothing'

JusthereforXmas · 01/06/2023 10:08

I have several play suits like this and you litrally just pull them on.

Put it on like trousers and then pull the straps up your arm like putting on a bra, it doesn't need zips or cutting. I'm confused as to how that can be confusing unless your wearing one way to tight for you.

I will say I bought a boohoo one not long ago that was full sleeved and although I ordered regular I'm SURE they sent petit and that was a struggle trying to get my arms in the sleeve and pull it up when it was so tight, I nearly dislocated something... had to send it back.

The straps are sewn on to the tshirt.

I totally missed that the t shirt was part of it too Blush

I think you probably do cut the threads, just like when you get a skirt/blazer (thinking work wear) and you have to snip the thread that sees the back tail flappy piece or the pockets

VanGoghsDog · 01/06/2023 11:14

Yeah, this would be fun in the loo!

MooMooSharoo · 01/06/2023 12:09

Can you snip this stitch and its equivalent at the other end? It should be doable with a small pair of scissors or nail clippers, then pull the stitches through to separate the pieces.

When I first looked at it I didn't realise the t-shirt was part of the set, but it must have to come apart as otherwise it would be physically impossible.

I attempted to try on a jumpsuit for the first time last weekend but my hips are just too wide to get the waist bit over! I've decided I'll stick with dresses and chub rub shorts instead!

Am I just being stupid- boohoo jumpsuit
Divebar2021 · 01/06/2023 12:18

I don’t think it’s designed to have the stitches cut. Presumably you’re expected to step into the neck of the t shirt and pull it up from the feet but holy hell that will stretch out the neckline. I don’t think I’d actually make it over my derrière. What a stupid design.

Catspyjamas17 · 01/06/2023 12:48

I had a lovely Next all in one once, but the zip was at the back and it was not stretchy. There was just no way (even though I am quite flexible and can undo and zip up many back zips myself) I was going to be able to get out of it myself to go to the loo, even if I put a ribbon on the zip end. Someone had really not thought that through.

Minnie123456 · 01/06/2023 13:28

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, I'll maybe try getting in contact with boohoo,if not i'll just return it. Im gutted as I really liked it.

The straps are completely stitched on to the t shirt and there's no way my bum is fitting through the neck of the t shirt 😂

I’m not sure if this would work but I’d try:
Roll the t shirt bit up as much as poss.
Put your legs into the jumpsuit so the rolled up t shirt and the straps are in front of you.
Put your arms into the t shirt and arrange it so the straps are in the right place.
Put your head through the t shirt and straps in one go.

Kennykenkencat · 01/06/2023 14:01

I think lately there are clothes that you look at and have no idea how you are supposed to put them on.

greennotepad · 01/06/2023 16:35

I am so invested in this, please let us know if you find out!

What an odd design. This bit in the description has made me chuckle 'Easiest outfit ever.'

weirdoboelady · 01/06/2023 18:06

My suspicion is that this is a rogue item which has been stitched firmly to the t shirt in error. Return it, point out the manufacturing fault, and ask them to send you one which is actually wearable!

Lambstails · 01/06/2023 18:30

@Minnie123456

I'm so sorry, I don't have a clue what the answer but can I just say the thought of having to put your bum through the neck hole of the t shirt has had me laugh like I haven't done for a long while. And if you saw the size of my arse, you'd know why I'm finding it so hysterical.

I'm sorry, but thank you for the belly laugh - much needed!

NeverDropYourMooncup · 01/06/2023 18:32

Dear Lord, don't attempt to get it on without somebody else there to cut you out.

Do make sure you remember to go to the loo before getting dressed as I don't think you'll get out of the jumpsuit and back in to it again!

It's a crazy design!

This must be the answer, but since it's summer, now try it in the cramped portaloo at a badly-run wildlife park while your DC scream at you through the door going "muuuuuum! I dropped my ice cream down my trouserrrrrrrrs"

Usually if stitches are temporary you can remove them by hand without cutting - like the cross they put in the bottom of skirt splits and jacket vents. Incidentally the number of people who don't know to remove that is astounding going by what I see walking to the bus.

I so want to tell them.

JudgeRudy · 01/06/2023 22:35

Poundland and Wilkos sell unpickers for exactly these sort of jobs. Even if you could wiggle your way in with a bit of stretching....the real problem will be when you need a wee!
