I haven't tried these but am considering it. What do you do when you need to change them in the daytime when you're at work or something? Keep the used pair in a plastic bag? I'm worried about keeping a used pair of period pants in my handbag...

Lol, I don't know, but be aware of places that search bags on entry - I have to go to court occasionally for work, forgot about the bag searches, and had to tell the poor, mortified young security guard that the thing he didn't recognise was a menstrual cup. Poor chap!

RunnyPaint · 24/05/2023 22:21

I have Wuka and M&S, and reckon that the Wuka have slightly better absorbancy, but the M&S are more comfortable, wash and dry more easily, and seem to be lasting better. I must admit that I usually wear a tampon if I have to go anywhere on heavy day.

Cherryblossoms85 · 24/05/2023 22:25

I don't really get the point, but I guess I'll never have another period as Mirena until menopause.

LuckOfTheDrawer · 24/05/2023 22:28

Well, for me the point is that these are hopefully more environmentally friendly than disposable sanitary protection, and I also appreciate not having to change them during the day when I'm at work etc.

It’s my concern too. It’s easy to deal with a pad if you are not at home but period pants are very different. DD wears them only for short periods e.g going somewhere in the evening/ at weekend. She once was longer at the cinema then expected and they leaked luckily she wore dark jeans so wasn’t noticeable.

thedogisstaring · 24/05/2023 22:29

I've got the heavy day ones but I would only wear them on light days. I have endometriosis so my heavy days are very heavy so maybe my expectations are too high!
I have also found that they're not well sewn at the waist elastic, two out of three pairs developed holes fairly quickly.
Despite these issues, I agree they are good and good value.

VanityKase · 24/05/2023 22:31

wuka do a range called super heavy flow.
I used them after birth and still continue to use them now

you live and learn every day…

VanityKase · 24/05/2023 22:35

On days when I know I’ll be busy or have a long shift I wear my period pants to work but wear a tampon. I’ll remove the tampon later in the day but I’ll still have my period pants on underneath to take me to the end of my shift. I don’t like using tampons which is why I have the period pants but will use one to start a busy day off so I don’t have to change pants.

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 24/05/2023 22:36

SnakesNLadders · 24/05/2023 20:58

They don’t work for heavy periods. I only wear the ones that are supposed to be ‘heavy’ on my light days.

Same. My modi bodi ones are much much better.

meganorks · 24/05/2023 22:52

I got some Modibodi for my DD at an eye-watering £25 a pair. But I went for it as they were the only ones I could confirm had padding all the way to the waistband front and back (to stop night-time leaks). Imagine my disappointment when I discovered they had leaked from the gusset! I honestly don't see how people can use them on their own. And now I'm wary of trying any others.

Inca22 · 24/05/2023 23:14

I bought a three pack from Costco and I can't see the brand - but they're the best ones I've tried so far and I'm prone to flooding and have not had a leak through them once.

Primark ones were rubbish.

Escapetofrance · 24/05/2023 23:39

My 12 year old dd wears them as she didn’t like pads. She changes them when home from school, but that’s it-expect for bed, obviously. Best product ever invented!

timtam23 · 24/05/2023 23:43

I bought a pair but found they came up very small and tight, completely different sizing to other M&S pants. I don't like them so fur me they were an expensive mistake - I prefer the Love Luna ones from Sainsburys

M&S sell a little bag for them too.

The pants are quite good but I've found a few pairs have started to get a little hole at the waistband after only a handful of washes, which was disappointing.

Tintackedsea · 25/05/2023 00:07

WHY don't they come up far enough at the front? I've been feeling like such a weirdo freak. Very pleased that other women find they aren't "long" enough. Modibodi do come up far enough but don't last five minutes before going into holes.

Patchw0rk · 25/05/2023 11:58

I like my m&s ones as you can tumble dry them! I only use them for the light days though, for heavy and overnight I use Wuka.

overitunderit · 25/05/2023 13:12

I always use mine with a mooncup and then on their own at night. I really love it because I never have to remember to buy sanitary stuff, save money and get to feel smug environmentally. I've got heavy periods after my DC and the combination works a charm.

isitshe · 26/06/2023 12:58

I appreciate this thread is more than a month old, but if anyone who has tried the pants sees this, can you tell me if they work for night time? I sleep on my back and on heavier days have to use two pads to completely cover from front to back, otherwise I wake up to a wee spot on the sheet 😳

Also, how often do you need to change them during the day, since with pads it's usually with every pee?

Yes they work for night. I do sometimes find they leak if im having a heavy day but no more than pads would.

I wear one pair all day with a mooncup in as I find that combination works best for me. Obviously don't wear the mooncup at night. I Chuck the knickers in the shower with me to rinse them out then they just go in the normal wash.

isitshe · 26/06/2023 17:39

Thanks @overitunderit 😊

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 26/06/2023 18:41

The M&S ones would be useless overnight for me.
