Please recommend a nice, natural fake tan.

The sun is finally out, yay, and I want to start wearing shorts and dresses but I’m looking so white. Please could you recommend a natural looking fake tan? I’m a light/medium skin tone with a cool undertone.

I bought the Isle of Paradise drops at the weekend. Really impressed so far.

Palmers Cocoa butter gradual tan is great!

For a cheap one, I use Palmer's cocoa butter gradual tan. One pump per leg after a shower and it gives a lovely natural looking tan. Plus it smells like chocolate!

Oooh thank you. I will try this. I love Palmers and didn't know they did this product.

Bondai Sands mousse light on face, hands and feet, then medium on the rest of my body. Dark in high summer only on my legs and arms as they dont tan.

Skinny Tan is also good - very light and natural. I like the oil.

M&S oil

Tans that went orange on me:

Tan Luxe every day gradual tan/The Butter
Dove light every day gradual tanner
Isle of Paradise

Tans that went green on me:

St Tropez mousse
Vita Librata (stayed on for 3 weeks!)

I have mid blonde hair and light grey eyes.

I have just used Bondi sands technicolour in sapphire and I am blown away, it is the only tan that has eve not gone orange on me and was beautifully even. Absolute game changer. I am very pale, almost blue!!!

I’ve actually been quite pleased with the isle of paradise tan. I’m quite Olive skinned and it looks very natural. I used the water on my body and the drops on my face and both have come out well. Some of the reviews I read said that it didn’t smell bad, I disagree with that, it smelled strongly of fake tan to me!

I can’t smell anything at all with the drops.

I was really impressed with this as well, a bit concerned with it looked a bit grey on application but great final shade.

I had a horrible reaction to bondi sands... Which is odd as I've never had a reaction to cream before I don't have sensitive skin... Wonder if I had a bad batch?

Silky12 · 29/05/2023 07:41

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie I did my face with the drops at the same time as the water on my body so I might try just the drops next time and hope I can’t smell anything, thanks

An update on Luxe Tan - the gradual - if anyone's interested.

It's a good colour, golden, goes on well but does smell of biscuits, so I cant see the benefit of paying more for it, compared to say, Dove everyday tan. The illuminated particles are a nice touch though.
