Hotter Tourist sandals

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/05/2023 13:54

I've decided I quite like the look of these (please ignore if you don't like them - I don't care).

Does anybody have them?

Are they comfortable?

What's the sizing like?

Thank you. :)

I have had these sandals in the past and found them very comfortable. They look good on you - not at all grannyish. My favourite sandals for several summers have been Hotter’s Sol sandals. They suit my small, very high instep feet well, most importantly are comfortable and l think they look stylish. I have had them in several different colours.

Violinist64 · 14/05/2023 18:59

Also, for those of us with high insteps, we need support over our feet so slingbacks or Birkenstocks with nothing to hold them on your feet apart from the strap across are the worst types of sandals for us.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 14/05/2023 19:00

I have some of these - they are very comfortable . I like the buckle fastenings as I have fairly broad feet - but equally find my feet swell over the course of the day so I can loosen them . I think the ones you have ordered look good in black .

AmberPig · 14/05/2023 23:43

Another with very narrow feet here. I had a pair in a zebra kind of pony skin print from a few years ago but the edges of the straps were really sharp and dug into my bony feet. Are your pair soft leather @RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie? Tempted to try a plain pair as the soles were so comfortable, and it’s really hard to get sandals that fit.

Jellyheadbang · 14/05/2023 23:55

What's so good about hotter? My elderly ex mil swore by them but I thought thry looked horrible. Fast forward 15 years, I have disabilities, terrible foot pain and instability , plantar fasciitis type pain but due to extreme hypermobile foot bones
I have been through thousands pounds worry of recommended shoes but still struggling to find anything summery that would also look nice a bit dressed up.
I need stability, arch support, some flexibility of the sole, i will look up hotter but asking here as is a current thread of knowledgeable folks

I have got RA which affects my feet and ankles. I also have flat feet.
Hotter are the only shoes and sandals I can wear. I have several pairs of other brands that I just can't walk in.

The leather seems quite soft, but I haven’t worn them outside of the house yet.

They look great on you, particularly like the black.

farmerboy · 15/05/2023 08:04

They look fab! I've had several pairs of Hotter sandals and find them comfortable and easy to run around in, especially at work all day. I do find the sizing variable though and generally order a couple of sizes to get the best fit. Let us know how you get on with them.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/05/2023 18:17

Thanks, both.

@farmerboy Would I be right in assuming that, "As you wish" is linked to your name?

Don't get it?

Sewaccidentprone · 15/05/2023 19:13

I have 3 pairs - think they’re great. I have narrow feet and the normal width ones fit fine. The straps are adjustable, but also have a piece of hidden elastics which makes them really comfy.

i don’t care what others think, they’re comfy, adjustable and fit me. Tbh they’re the only ones I’ve found which do. I take a 6.5 but a 7 fits best. I also have Birkenstocks narrow which are great (lusting after this seasons bright blue ones, but think they’re £140? - not paying that much)

Ah. Sorry! I thought it might be a reference to 'The Princess Bride' - ignore me! Grin

This makes me very hopeful that I've made a good choice. And as for the way they look, I love them more every time I look at them!

Yes, I know. I wondered if 'Farmer Boy' was an interpretation of it.

Farmer Boy was just my favourite book when I was growing up. Part of the Laura Ingalls Wilder series. I'm not at all green fingered and need concrete under my feet at all times!

LaviniasBigBloomers · 15/05/2023 20:17

I've two pairs of these (though they appear to have changed the buckle?). I also have the same size feet as you OP. I wore them to meet a pal last summer and she asked where I'd got them, so I sent her the link. She replied 'why have you sent me a link to these fugly shoes, I was after the nice ones you had on last night.' Never underestimate the power of branding, or how much you can get away with with tiny feet!

Grin And the concrete is presumably why you want comfortable sandals too?!

@LaviniasBigBloomers (another excellent name) - that's so funny. I've just read on another thread that all sandals look better with red nail varnish, however ugly they are, and I think that's a good point too!
