Please rescue my hair!!!!

Hi all
My hair needs urgent help...
It's dry and just looks so dull.
It essentially looks (and feels) like hay!

Have had blood tests (thyroid, female hormones, iron, vit D etc. and all ok)

I take regular wellwoman and top up with calcium, vit D and extra iron (as prone to anaemia).

Feel like I need a decent shampoo and conditioner for starters... was using head and shoulders for ages due to itchy scalp but think it's contributed to the dull dry look. Hair naturally curly so think alot of it is chronic heat damage but still...it's never been this bad.

Now use the Aussie products which are normally great for me but...not really helping.

Willing to spend more than average on decent hair products if you have any recommendations for similar hair issues??

If your hair is naturally curly, have you looked at the info on products around the Curly Girl method? Naturally curly hair usually tends to be dry and needs lots of moisture and protein, and benefits so much from SLS free products and co washing. You may not want to create curls, but you need to work with the natural demands of your hair type to get it back into condition.

Curly girl method as others have said. Dd has coarse curly hair, we use Only Curls products, sulfate free shampoo but only on the scalp/roots, rinse, lots of conditioner on the rest, squish the water in while rinsing, leave in conditioner on (not the roots) while still soaking wet and then wrapped in a microfibre turban without rubbing. She sleeps in a satin bonnet too which has made a big difference. No heat and no brushing, just a wide tooth comb while the conditioner is on if necessary but usually she doesn't need it. Only washing hair twice a week has helped too

I have bleached hair that was dry and brittle. I use olaplex no 3 every so often and their oil number 7 before I straighten my hair. Made a massive difference. Dint get on with the shampoo.

I also use L’Oréal Elvive hydrating (it’s lilac) it’s made a big difference. Started to use L’Oréal bond serum to cut costs, impressed so far.

I like to use a bit of coconut oil to smooth my hair.

No products I have tried have actually made much of a difference. Sometimes damage has to be cut out of hair.

Also saw a thread the other day where someone put banana on their hair instead of conditioner. No idea if it works tho.

I've just bought a dry conditioner, to use on dry hair, in a mousse format. I think it's rather nice and better than some of my more expensive hair products.

You need to use a really gentle shampoo. Try an oat/colloidal one for your itchy scalp. I’m in Australia and use Dermeeno but google tells me you can get this in the UK.

I have been amazed how healthy my hair is using such a cheap product.
