Help me find a denim jacket!!!! Feel a bit lost

I really want a denim jacket to wear over dresses. I tend to shop at Hush, Zara, and the like with an occasional treat from Me and Em-although just got a lovely broderie anglais dress from Sainsburys.

I don't have to be on the cover of Vogue-just not look wrong/dowdy.
I am a fairly conservative dresser. Would wear with with leather superga or Tiger Onisuka as recommended by mumsnet or birkenstocks.

I am 5'9, slightly top heavy size 14, 50's.

I'd be wearing with spring/summer dresses. I have tried various cardigan options and look like I am wearing a dressing gown and nightdress.

Just coming on to say thanks for all of the suggestions!!

I think @LadyOfTheCanyon hit the nail on the head re fit and end use.
Def want a shorter, neater fit to wear over dresses-not an oversized one.

I had a look at all of the recommendations.

Tried the Next one but found it a little too long on me. No joy in TKMaxx.
Tried H&M-as PP poster suggested oversized is in style at the moment the one's i saw here were very oversized.
Tried a few more in shops suggested above and actually ended up with perfect one from New Look! It's over an inch shorter than the Next one.
Really happy with it and grateful for all of the input!!

Next have just started doing a denim jacket for a fuller bust. I found it to a nicer fit than most I've tried.

I second this, I bought this exact one from next as I have big boobs and it fits lovely!

I got this one from Zara, assume it’s on the uk site also. Regular denim jackets just look wrong on me for some reason but I’m very happy with this. I got it for wearing with wide leg trousers mainly but I think it would look good with dresses too.

I bought a white denim jacket from mint velvet last summer, it is on the expensive side but it's perfect for summer and I wore it loads! They still have in stock as I saw it online recently :)
