Items you regret not buying...

This was several years ago now but Monsoon had the softest, green boiler suit/jumpsuit. I was a student at the time and couldn't justify it but I still think about it and regret not buying it.

Are there any items that you really regret not buying and now it's too late?

One of my best clothing memories of all time was the summer of ca 2003 when DP and I were still in lust and I discovered that you can buy bikini tops in bra sizes.

It's expensive but so worth it! I bought the most gorgeous pink and brown surfer style print bikini from Freya, I just couldn't believe how someone like me with ridiculous boobs can actually enjoy swimwear. No exaggeration to say it transformed my entire holiday experience.

The regret is that didn't a) buy their entire range before the quality dropped and b) buy it in even bigger sizes for the menopausal shape I had no idea was in the post 🤣

A black leather bag at All saints Bicester village I went back an hour later and someone else had bought it!

A leopard print bias cut slip dress that was reversible and red on the other side- with a red stripe down the side of the leopard side and vice versa
It was in a supermarket (think it was George at Asda and would have been circa 1998

I so wish I had bought it even though I am about 7 stone heavier now and would never fit in it

At least 25 years ago I saw 4 Erte original paintings of art deco ladies in an antique shop in Kent. They were £250 each and beautiful. I didn't have the cash and was too scared to have the sum of £1000 on my credit card (I was a lot more cautious in those days and me and DH were saving for our wedding!) but how I wish I'd have got them. I still think of them now.

Also an immaculate Chanel handbag which was on a stall at a vintage clothing fair in Chelsea Town Hall at least 10-15 years ago and possibly longer than that. It was about £400 if I remember rightly. I was a lot less risk averse by that time and still to this day don't know why I didn't get it.

A Tanya Taylor denim dress, kind of “architectural”. I did not but it because I saw Giovanna Battaglia wearing it.

Antipodium tarot cards dress. I actually bought it but ir was returned the next day.

A fitted Austrian jacket in yellow I tried on in the early 90s and my mum did not allow me to buy as it was very expensive. It would have been cheap “by use” as I would still be wearing it.

A Marc Jacobs embroidered dress in 2005. I would have bought it straight away for my cousin’s wedding but this was January and the wedding was in July so I wanted to be sure. Decided I NEEDED it by mid February and my size was sold out everywhere and then every size was sold out by March.

Loewe puzzle bag in the Harrods outlet at the Westfield for £499 when the shops opened after lockdown. I still cannot comprehend why I left it there. In my defence, they were closing the shop. I returned the following morning by 10:30am and it had been sold.

These from Marks & Spencer. I bought them in black as they would be more fucking versatile - but I wanted these! Sold out now 😢

I've just seen them in Colliers Wood M&S this morning!

A yellowish green dress with black flowers on it from Max Mara. I was looking for a graduation dress, saw this one in a shop and it was love from the first sight. I tried it on and adored everything about it, but the color drained me. I got it anyway, brought it home, but the colors were so hideous on me, a pale strawberry blonde, there was no denying it. That dress was obviously meant for somebody dark-haired and tanned. I literally cried when I was taking it to the shop to return, and I went on to buy some lovely purple silk dress which suited me very much.
To this day, 15 years later, I still remember that Max Mara dress from time to time. It was the right decision to return it, but there was something about it that makes me irrationally regret not getting it in the end.

I read this today at 5:13pm as I was leaving work and thought, there can’t be many people in my conservative town who want to wear golden clogs…
I dashed to M&S and got there just as it was closing. Not only was there a pair in my size, I got 15% off thanks to my Sparks Card.
Thank you! 💐

A striking pencil nude drawing in a local gallery. I had just moved into my house and just couldn't afford it,also it would not have looked good in my living room. It would have been better placed in a drawing room🙄

A unicorn.

Chanel doesn't discount their bags.
