What do you wear on your legs with a short dress

At this time of year?

Black tie party. Bare legs? The dress is quite short which isn’t my usual 50 year old style..

Bare legs, but I probably wouldn’t wear a short dress to a black tie do.

My short dresses are very short.

I have bare toe tights for exactly this scenario. I don't tan. Alternatively spray / fake tan.

I wouldn't go shorter than an inch above the knee myself for black tie and only then if it was cocktail dress black tie ... normally I go full length as I have a go to dress

It isn’t at all formal just dressy. Two different things I think. I’ll know most people there and everyone will get quite drunk.

Just a dress and sandals/shoes. I didn’t realise you need perfect legs to wear short dresses, my legs are covered in scars but I still get them out.

Black tights and shoes/boots. Not sandals or open toe!
If it was a hot day then bare leg and sandals - but only if you have the legs for it.

Black tie you wear tights. Bare legs are for summer or something more casual.

It’s a party not an obligation function but my legs whilst tanned are certainly not perfect. Dress is mid thigh which for me is very short. Sparkly, with sandals

I think I’d perhaps better buy an assortment and try..

Tights. Summer tights from m and s are good. Some have toeless ones for sandals

This thread is actually making me quite sad, my cat bit my shin in a freak accident at the end of February!

I've had a skin graft & it's healing but I still have a big hole in my shin! You can even see the hole through leggings!

I think it's going to be a while before I can wear even a knee length dress again! 🙁

This thread is nuts! What on earth is wrong with pale skin? I have light skin, I don’t like tanning or using fake tan. Natural skin colour is beautiful whether light or dark. What isn’t beautiful is fake skin colour.

I agree. In fact, I’d go further & say fake tan is a bit dated and cheap looking these days. There is nothing wrong with pale skin.
