Has anyone used Sistaco nail 'varnish'?

IloveJudgeJudy · 10/04/2023 11:37

This company's products keep coming up on my Facebook feed. Has anyone ever used them? Are they any good?

I would really like to stop getting my nails done in a salon (builder in a bottle overlay) but I don't like to have naked nails. I did used to paint my nails with ordinary varnish and seche vite but never got very good results.

Thank you for your thoughts.

I've been researching this system today. On Trustpilot there are some excellent reviews, but there are quite a few negative ones too. It certainly looks good, but I suppose (as with anything) its whether you can afford to lose the money if it doesn't work?

Xarrie · 11/04/2023 21:00

I am pondering this too. I like the look of them.

yellowhedges · 11/04/2023 21:21

I'm wondering if there's a UK company doing the same product? Or on Amazon?
It looks interesting but I'm sure there's no need to wait 2 weeks for delivery from Australia.
Anyone know?
Thanks

FeelingwearyFeeelingsmall · 12/04/2023 09:02

I use it. It's brilliant. Easy to apply and lasts for ages. It is frustrating to have to wait for delivery though.

BoxOfCats · 12/04/2023 09:41

I'm in New Zealand, it's been sold here for a while now.

I really like it, it's much easier to do at home than gel polish as well as being much easier to remove. I have quite a lot of colours. The classic colours have a slight shimmer to them and the holographic ones are very sparkly. There isn't an equivalent of a cream finish.

I recommend using two coats of topcoat, and also purchasing the Instant Remover.

I have also just purchased their new device for steam removal, it's only just arrived so I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

HappyKatieA · 12/04/2023 09:57

I've just seen an ad for Glamrdip, which has a UK site. It looks like dipping powder at home, which is what I originally wanted. However, the sistaco looks really easy and good for your nails.

Trolltrotters · 12/04/2023 10:12

I've used it for about two years now. I'm mixed. Pros: it's easy to apply and you can achieve different looks (they call it classic and metallic/holographic) the colour range is excellent. You can mix colours. For example I didn't like one colour called 'blossom' so I mixed it with 'sunset' and created a different colour that I did like.

Cons. I have never figured out how at make a mani last longer than about 4 days without chipping. So ppl on the FB page get two/three weeks out of theirs and display their regrowth. But mu hands do have a hard life.
The wait times for delivery from aus can be long and the prices on the expensive side (£14 for a pot of powder although it does last)

Overall I'd give it a go but definitely join the fb group. They have given me good tips like warm you base and top coat in your bra to achieve thiner layers and use hand sanitiser to remove oils etc etc. Stuff that the office instructions wouldn't tell you!

Trolltrotters · 12/04/2023 10:14

Oh and all the colours are sparkly to VERY sparkly so if neutral/nude/classic is your thing, I don't thing sistaco would suit

IloveJudgeJudy · 12/04/2023 14:16

Thank you for all your comments. I'm still on the fence atm. I've got one more booked in manicure and I'll decide after that.

I'm trying to get a good deal on eBay for the system I've heard mixed reviews so don't want to pay full price

Pennythoughts28 · 08/05/2023 14:18

Also I'm allergic to methacrylate and cyanoacrylate so can't get my nails done at all in the salon , I use nail wraps they don't last that long but you can do them night before and last next day if your going anywhere and of course you get so many designs to choose from for me it's better than nothing

TelJB · 04/08/2023 08:26

I use sistaco and it is sparkly so great for a night out etc. I do however use the system without the powder and replace for a creamy Sally Hansen Polish to get the cream/gel effect and it works a treat. It has lasted 2 weeks and just replaced one nail which chipped. It is a little expensive but equivalent to 2/3 manicures at a salon so not really in the bigger scheme of things. Happy me time....

Szoszyke85 · 14/09/2023 17:17

If you're asking about Sistaco, and you care for your nails health,I'd say avoid. I bought into the hype too and while it was OK-ish doing the nails (once I got the hang of it),it was really HARD to remove the base layer and the residue that I had to.And I tried soaking, I had their express remover and still ended up having to scrape it off, which ultimately damaged my nails . It's been 5+weeks since and can still see damage from my last use.If I would've known this from the start I would've never purchased it.

BeeDub123 · 30/10/2023 21:04

I have used Sistaco. I love the products. BUT my last order had 2 items missing. Its been 2 weeks and they have not said if they will be sending the missing items. HENCE I do not feel confident making any further purchases as I would like to receive products that I pay for.

suki1964 · 12/12/2023 11:09

Ive been wearing Sistaco for three years now and I have to say, that after a shaky start, I now absolutely love it and would recommend it

The shaky start was due to lockdown. They went online, before it was only sold at demonstrations at fairs and like everyone I thought its easy, what can go wrong. At that time the information leaflets were very very basic, and I damaged my nails due to not removing correctly. I have to say CS was excellent and they did everything they possibly could to get my nails back to health. Of course that does take time and patience but since then, never had an issue as I know now not to rush the removal - never scrape, just add more remover and let that do its job.

Its not as fast as the videos make out. You do need to take your time if you want a good long lasting result. Removal is a long process, I take off whilst watching tv the night before as it can take an hour, and then slap on oil over night. Following morning I do cuticles, file, trim and clense the nail beds and apply. Takes possibly 30 mins. I change mine every 10 days to two weeks but I often get three weeks wear, only changing due to regrowth

The powders are so versatile , you can mix them to create new colours. They sell a great range of embellishments and have now also moved into plant based reusable falsies which are stunning - not tried those yet

And best news, they now ship from England so 3 to 5 days delivery

I have about 50 colours, enough to see my life out

Pic attached is 12 days wear, no chips, just regrowth showing

Do you work for them?

wite · 12/12/2023 19:25

Do you work for them?

No.

I offered up my experience to the question has anyone used Sistaco and you come back with that?

Trying to get the post count up?

wite · 13/12/2023 18:57

@suki1964 why on earth would I want to get the post count up on some random thread? It just sounded like a hun spiel.

I might give it a go if it's that good.

Hun spiel? Wtf does that mean?

Posters previous to me have said they love it, did you not think they were working for the company? Did you not suddenly think "oh Ill try it" reading the previous posts?

I posted my true experience, as a long time wearer of the product and gave new information that hadn't previously been mentioned - like they now ship from within the UK and you jump on me

Perhaps you might like to reread your posts before hitting send, see for yourself how it comes across?

Ive nothing else to say to you, goodbye

wite · 14/12/2023 08:41

@suki1964 calm down. It's all okay Flowers

NonnyD · 28/12/2023 08:45

TBH I've not tried it but I'm a nail tech and it looks like a generic nail powder used over a clear gel coat then top coated with clear gel . One thing that leads me to think this is that there are no cream finishes, all colours have a shimmer to varying degrees and the nail powder i mention isn’t made without shimmer. I could be wrong so dont take me at my word.

Here are my thoughts. It wont replace builder in a bottle as theres nothing there to give strength but could be used over it for an easy colour. It has a tendency to wear off on the free edge. If im right its vastly over priced but fair play on a company for using an excellent marketing edge. Her is a link to the type of powder ive mentioned.

I have developed the same allergy, I am gutted. I would love to find an alternative that works but so far I havent :(

FeelingwearyFeeelingsmall · 28/12/2023 17:24

Sistaco is very good as long as you like sparkly colours. It's easy to do and very long lasting. Just apply the thinnest possible coats of the base and top products. Use it really sparingly like glue more than a varnish. Some colours go on more smoothly than others. Some are easier to remove than others.

NonnyD · 28/12/2023 23:10

Its the removal that causes the damage to nails not the product. However allergies are unfortunately becoming more common.

Funnily enough they launched Neons and Matts last night

Im wearing their sustainable nails , plant based biodegradable press ons, and am seriously impressed. I have lots of systems, builder gel, acrylics etc but the sustainables , other then melting when Im cooking and turning with fingers, are really good. They stick like poo to a blanket
