Another trainers one!

I'm desperate to replace by Stan Smiths since seeing Matt Hancock wearing them but I don't know what to buy. I was going to get some New Balance 327s, but now decided I'm bored of seeing them everywhere before I've even got them for myself. So I need some other suggestions. Not Vejas. Bored of seeing them as well (easily bored, obviously!). Opinions would be appreciated to look trendy but not try-hard for an approaching 50 year old.

Has anyone got Golas and can say whether they are comfortable?

What else are people wearing that is perhaps less obvious but looks good and is super-comfortable?

No need to get so deep about them

If you like them and they're comfortable and well made just buy them

I've got some Gola Grandslam and I am 50 with a bunion and plantar fasciitis. I find them the comfiest of all the trainers I've got including my FitFlop Rally.

New Balance 550's? I just got a pair, not so ubiquitous as the 327, very 1980's

Try Hoff trainers M&S do a whole range of their colours now

327s are so bloody comfortable.

Gola are definitely a slightly ‘older’ look.

But just go with what you like the look of and what’s comfortable.

I have chubby ankles and not good lower legs ( not quite cankles) and find some trainers accentuate this part ie high up to the ankle bone BUT I love the look with dresses. I'm also mature 😊

Have to say I find the canvas Vegas really flattering as they are low cut. Also sooooo comfortable out of box unlike the leather version. Look around as there's always places with sales on them. Not cheap but they really last and don't start looking scruffy like converse.

New Balance 574 are so comfortable and not as popular as the 327s. I bought some last summer and now have 3 pairs - all older kids size 5.5. Like walking on air!

Yes, I like them too. I wouldn't get Airforce 1s because that's all my teen DDs wear.

No. I also won't wear certain trainers because my teen DDs wear them. I need new anyway because they're so worn out from wearing them every day whatever the weather and styles have changed since 2 years ago when I bought these.

I've had Supergas in the past, and I didn't find them as comfortable as everyone raves about. They were also lower cut so I couldn't wear normal trainer socks with them.
