What beauty treatments do you do that feel really worth it?

balyage, microneedling, waxing, eyelash extensions, injectables...

What treatments do you have that you feel give real bang for your buck? As in, the amount they improve your appearance/self-confidence fully justifies the cost.

I'm looking to start doing a bit more for myself, but like most of us I don't have unlimited budget.

Oh and eyebrow wax and tint.

This!

My eyesight means I find it really hard to give my brows a really good tidy otherwise and the tint is just 👍

I get my brows tattooed, because they're naturally very faint. It makes a huge difference to my face and makes my morning routine easier too.

Saving up for eyeliner tattoo too, because it looks fantastic.

Make sure you find a really good technician for this type of work though because there are lots of bad ones out there!

oh can I ask a couple of questions ?
Is the tattooing done by a tattoo artist ? How does it differ from microblading ?When I look up online "eyebrow tattoo" it seems to go onto micoblades

Tattoo with a fine needle injecting ink undr the skin and microblading with microscopic scoring of skin and pigment applied (I think)

Is the tattoo permenant (like any standard one , minimal fade ) I read about people having microblade top ups

And how does it heal, does it go scabby first ?

There's a very reptable ,busy tattoo artist near us which offers brow/lip/eyeliner . But my DD says it;s your FACE , if it goes wrong you're stuck

@Untrusting re: the wella, i'm sure you'd research it yourself just fine, but for info. it's the whole bottle of toner mixed with twice that amount of the developer. I use T18 toner which is lightest ash. I get mine on Onbuy or Ebay.

You can use 9% vol developer if you want to lift your roots, or 6% for less oomph. Both are gentle and both only need to be on the hair for 15/20 mins max. Amazon do this. Lots of different brands - i usually use the Wella one, but i have used others and it didn't make any difference.

My hair is naturally mouse brown so 15 mins of the 9% vol developer brings my roots up quite light (and tones the blond obvs). If your natural hair is darker i guess it won't lighten it as much but with still de yellow your bleach blonde.

Even the 9% is NOT strong enough to lighten any dyed dark hair i've found - such as low lights or under dyes/root blend. So it won't touch that. For that reason you can bung it all over your head and not worry about it bleaching any artificial low lights.

T11 is a lovely light beige blonde. I used to actually buy both and mix the T11 and the T18 together (and then add twice that amount of developer) and that gave the best of both worlds. These days i can't be arsed with that much faff only use one and it's usually the T18.

If you overtone and go a bit purpley it does wash out with a wash or two. Leave it on for less time next time.

It goes quite an alarming dark purple while on your head and smells a bit, but it's good stuff 👌

@70isaLimitNotaTarget I had micropigmentation which is done with a single needle on brows
Definitely recommend it. Although you're meant to have it redone every so often and I haven't!

A monthly facial.

Botox every 6-9 months.

Dermalogica cleansers, toners, serums, moisturisers and retinol.

I tried lash extensions, the most natural looking ones the beautician could do - I looked awful. I’ve realised I really hate fake lashes.

Botox 3x a year to the area between my eyebrows: started having this age 30 before wrinkles formed and now (17 years later), still wrinkle free.

I also have my brows tattooed with a combination of powder / micro blading so its really natural.

Otherwise, lots of water, healthy diet, exercise and a daily skincare regime, with the occasional hydra facial when I can afford it.

Hair laser removal has been a game changer for me. I've had legs and underarms done so far, starting bikini line this week

Deep tissue massages every 3 months

Eyebrow wax and tint

Facial every six months

I'm pretty low maintenance, just use whatever moisturisers and cleansers and don't like facials. I liked the things below though as they had a permanent effect:

Laser on legs
Electrolysis on face (blonde hairs)
Photofacials on face and chest (got rid of sun damage)
Advanced electrolysis on skin tags
