So, following on from earlier posts about house decorating colours influencing clothing choices. I need inspiration!
I've now convinced everyone that after the teens' GCSEs and A levels are over we are all going to have a grand bedroom swap. DS1 is going to uni so he can give up his bigger bedroom to DS2 and have DS2's box room.
DH and I are going to move into the office/teen/sofabed room which has the en-suite, we would really like our own bathroom at last. Our bedroom will become the office/teen/sofabed room.
None of these rooms have been decorated for 8 years so it would be worth painting them all in the process. The teens can choose their own colours, but I'd quite like to take this opportunity to make our bedroom nice.
It's a smaller room than our current bedroom. So we're going to keep the wardrobes, DH's WFH desk and lots of the other clutter in the current bedroom in there and just move the bed and some other furniture.
We want to try and turn the new bedroom into something that looks nice instead of one that houses loads of stuff. Having finally moved away from purple to yellow, orange and green in our living room refurbish last year, I now need ideas for this. I love the new living room, but it cost a lot as we replaced all furniture which was 20 years old as was bought with my ex.
We don't want to spend a fortune again, but at least want new bedside tables, curtains and paint. We also desperately need to replace our 16 year old mattress.
Given I'm not really a floral dress person, I'm not going to be a floral curtain person either. I want something fun and funky with wall colours to match. I'm not doing wallpaper, too much of a pain to remove in the future. I love the idea of a little fuschia chaise longue but it's probably totally impractical for such a small room!
Ideas style people?
