Does anyone use a decolletage pad for sleeping?

UpToonGirl · 24/03/2023 10:05

I'm a side sleeper, no chance of changing that but I'm finding in the mornings the lines on my chest are taking longer and longer to smooth out.

Skin is pretty good, no sun damage so I can't see more creams making much of a difference but I was wondering about some sort of sticky pad, I've seen a few online but reviews are patchy.

Not tried it yet but have the same problem!

AbsolutePixels · 24/03/2023 11:56

I use something like this. Not the sexiest thing to wear to bed, but it does work.

(Not me in the picture, btw!)

UpToonGirl · 24/03/2023 12:11

@AbsolutePixels is that a material pad? I had been thinking a silicone pad but this is probably more environmentally friendly. Where did you buy it?

My DH already puts up with me wearing a silk bonnet and socks and gloves with moisturiser underneath so one extra accessory can't hurt!

I'm sorry, I can't think of anything more awful than going to bed in socks, gloves, a bonnet and some other device to make the lines on your chest fade quicker.

Your dh knows how old you are, right? Unless it's taking HOURS for these lines to fade surely nobody is seeing your cleavage and any surplus creases.

My dh would rather see me warts and all than 'put up' with all that paraphernalia every night, isn't it exhausting?

Longwhiskers · 24/03/2023 14:18

I used to have a stretchy crop top/ bra when breastfeeding. I’ve been meaning to dig it out as I’m also a side sleeper and want to see if it helps with this exact issue.

How rude. I was joking about dh putting up with it. I do these things FOR ME. If I am interested and bothered that's my business. Tbh the socks and gloves are because I get dry hands and feet and the bonnet is because I personally feel better waking up with less frizzy hair.

Meh.

Completely up to you if you want to spend your money on this stuff, I spend a fortune on my bonkers hair but not to the extent that my dh has to 'put up' with me looking like that overnight.

Just a thought that at some point age catches up with us all, and no creams, lotions and potions can stop the ageing process - I'd rather see my dp content in his skin than feel forced into such measures every night.

UpToonGirl · 24/03/2023 18:56

I just find it shitty to come on someone's thread just to patronise them. I don't like the lines on my chest so I would like to discuss what others have used.

How about I pop up on a thread about 'spending a fortune' on your hair and make comments that would potentially make you feel bad about doing something that you're bothered about.

This is style and beauty not aibu.

Pretty much every black women with natural hair sleeps with some kind of hair protection. If you don't have typical straight Caucasian hair it's actually pretty normal.

BabychamGlass · 24/03/2023 19:08

Yes I do, I have a couple of heart shaped silicon ones from Amazon.

I don't wear every night, but if I know I'm going to be wearing a v neck, or low cut something the next day I will stick one on for bed, and the skin looks markedly smoother the next day

Disco2023 · 24/03/2023 19:11

I’m with you op my chest lines now last half the day and I think some are probably more or less permanent. I’m pretty wrinkle free on my face for my age but my chest gives me away!!

Mumsnet it is currently rife with people coming onto posts just to disagree and pick at the poster or topic etc. it’s sooo easy to scroll by ….

TheSpottedZebra · 24/03/2023 19:13

What does it do, stop the skin from smooshing and creasing by stopping movement? Or is it like a mask, impregnated with something?

Whatever pent up anger and resentment you have from left over from last year, there is no need to come and take it out on someone else's thread.

HelloBunny · 24/03/2023 19:18

What about silk against the skin? I like my silk pillow (more for headaches than face). But I have the creases too, from side sleeping.

Mine just literally hold the skin taut, even when you're on your side.

I moisturise then whack it on, go to bed. I imagine that if you used every night it would slow down the wrinkling effect, but honestly, I can't be arsed- I'm happy with the temporary effect of just using the night before I'm going to wear something v necked.

tatteddear · 24/03/2023 22:22

Can anyone link to one I don't even know what to google? ( but I think I need one!)

Thanks!

I'm just at the stage of noticing that my night marks are taking longer and longer to go...

Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and wrinkle numbers 😉

I used to...they are good but I just cba anymore. I think they last about three weeks so it was also pricey.

Like this - lots of cheaper ones since I used them, though.

The one in the pic is a pillow, I think. So it stops the boob falling into the other one, which is how the crease is created that gives the wrinkle.

@Can2022getanyworse mine do last all day, so in a lowish cut top or dress anyone can see them.

RemoteControlDoobry · 24/03/2023 22:44

I used one for a while a few years ago but I think I started getting spots or irritation. It did work well for a while though.

Sone of us get seriously creased in that area and the pad prevents it.

Mine weren't going till practically the time I was due to go to bed! I just never show it now.
