Does anyone still wear ballet flats?

I need an alternative to ankle boots and trainers, for transitional weather! I've tried loafers, but I find them really uncomfortable. Brogues make my feet look massive! It's unfortunately not Birkenstock weather yet. :(

Any suggestions appreciated! I just want simple, flat shoes to go with slim leg or straight jeans. Perhaps a low-heeled court shoe? Would that look weird with jeans? I just dunno anymore!

I never stopped wearing them they're far too convenient.

@Doesthepopeshitinthewoods the post was trending on the app

I hate brogues think they look disgusting. I have plantar fascitis on and off. Normal ballets would kill my feet. Fitflops are crap quality they only last a short amount of time before they fall apart.

These have lasted me 12 months and still in good condition I also buy vionics. I think with foot pain you have to make a decision really to get as nice as you can with your limitations. I also regret spending so much time wearing stilettos we literally ruin our feet and cause lasting pain for fashion.

@NatashaDancing where did I say there was anything wrong in it? I distinctly said "each to their own". We were asked for opinions, I gave one. Think that's how it works

I recently bought a pair from Cocorose and they are as comfortable as slippers and also come beautifully packaged, which I am such a sucker for Blush. They are foldable, have a little travel bag and the company say they plant a tree with every order.

They are really nice. The price though Confused

I love ballet flats but I’ve been advised, by my physio, to avoid anything totally flat. I also need arch support. Will fit flops be ok? And any others?

michaelmacrae · 24/03/2023 22:03

So the Gabor ones I bought aren't really my style, feel a bit dumpy so they're going back.

But I just bought these in the sale on Fitflop!

They look like they'd be cute and casual with jeans so I'll report back once I get them. :)

I've had about 5 pairs of these and they don't last long at all 3 months before they fall apart. Shocking quality for the price. Vionics are better

I love ballet flats. I’ve been looking at Moshulu. The Jin style seems quite substantial.

There are some beautiful pumps on that site. Thank you.

Those are lovely too. Classic, smart pump.

GingerAle1 · 24/03/2023 22:47

Making notes!

I used to have some really cute ballet pump type shoes by Puma. They had more of a structured support in them. Everyone commented on them and I should have bought more than one pair because I haven't seen anything like them since.

lovescats3 · 25/03/2023 00:48

When did they go out of fashion? Thought they were a classic item

TheOGCCL · 25/03/2023 08:34

Have seen these recommended as a more casual version

I don't really wear trainers as they tend to make me feel immediately scruffy and shorten my already short legs so am always on the look out for spring summer alternatives.

I got a stern talking to from the doctor about ballet flats and how terrible they are for your feet. FitFlop have some very pretty ones with arch support and cushioning. I haven't tried them yet. Has anyone?
FitFlop ballet flats

Yes they are crap quality only last about 3 months before they start to fall apart. Vionic , pavers and other brands are much better.
