what would you buy?
criteria:

  • It has to be something for me (a treat) not for a bill/family gift
  • above is voided if it’s something truly beautiful I wouldn’t purchase for myself but for the home 🤣
  • I am happy to add to it but only up to £50-100
  • it isn’t cash, so needs to be a brand that can be purchased in JL/Waitrose

Some ideas-

airpods
silk pillowcase
new sheepskin slippers
apple watch
new trainers

I’m working on losing weight (sodding peri!) so clothes are in my list but am at the start of my journey and have 2 stone I’d like to make go away! I don’t need any work out gear (previous Sweaty Betty addiction 🤣)

I love cooking, beauty and good bed linen - help me spend mumsnetters!

I just had a £250 voucher and got sunglasses and trainers for the summer.

I need prescription glasses 😤 otherwise I’d be on them!

AirPods have literally changed my life. I'd highly recommend.

Falling under the 'buying something for the home if you wouldnt usually buy it' category id consider getting a really nice lamp that i dont need but just think is pretty. I think JL has a great lighting section.

noodlezoodle · 12/03/2023 20:42

I'm devoted to my Apple Watch and wouldn't be without it.

You can also trade them in if you want to upgrade - they hold their value surprisingly well.

A lamp was definitely on the list of things not for me but….

I think I need a trip to a JL to look around!

Today I treated myself to GHD platinum straighteners (mine packed up yesterday) and some Sketchers for my plantar fasciitis.

Daisy03 · 12/03/2023 21:21

I'd get the Apple Watch, helps me so much with my fitness goals

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 12/03/2023 21:52

I've just bought myself a Dyson hairdryer and it's amazing. If you have tricky hair, definitely invest.

I'd probably buy myself some Sean Leane earrings. I have some in silver but I'm in a gold phase at the moment.

PenguinLove1 · 12/03/2023 22:08

A nice handbag? Luxury skin care?

gawditswindy · 12/03/2023 22:13

I'm getting a wee bonus and getting new running shoes. Hopefully springy ones.

In the past I've got fancy new bedding.

Thighdentitycrisis · 12/03/2023 22:21

I think I would buy jewellery

Thighdentitycrisis · 12/03/2023 22:22

But JL don’t have a huge selection, maybe not……

DarkDarkNight · 12/03/2023 22:26

I would go with AirPods (pro model with noise cancellation). I love mine.

Other than that another hair tool to add to my collection.

Firkinhavinalaugh · 12/03/2023 22:32

I thought about a bit of gym equipment, and I actually already have something similar (thank you fb marketplace!)

Ive got some fake AirPods and I’d really like something comfortable to sleep in for headphones as I don’t sleep particularly well so I often listen to stuff in the night. Any recommendations for side sleeping also handy :). So I’ll definitely have a look, but I may have some left over to spend too :)

So hard to choose sometimes especially when on a fitness journey. I always default to using it for food shopping but know I need to use these bigger amounts to buy something more substantial.

How about a watch? some make up? Perfume? Electric toothbrush?

Happy Choosing!

TheFormidableMrsC · 12/03/2023 22:45

I've got a basket on eBay at around that price. So Roka bag, sweatshirt, vest, rubbish picker, sports bag, new bath panel, bathroom cabinet, jeans, makeup, perfume. I'm selling on Vinted to be able to buy.

PersonaNonGarter · 12/03/2023 22:54

Piglet in Bed PJs were a really good investment for me. Lovely PJs and/or bedding is a real treat.

PPop · 12/03/2023 22:58

Something or a couple things from le creuset their cookware is so lovely!

Pieceofpurplesky · 12/03/2023 23:01

Handbag.
Maybe saying that because I really want this one

BlooberryBiskits · 12/03/2023 23:10

A wrap dress would probably accommodate that level of weight change if you are looking for clothes

Mumofcats5 · 12/03/2023 23:16

I'd be practical and get fitted for a new sports bra and new bra. Nothing better in my opinion than properly fitting bras!!
Then I'd go hit the make up and perfume counters and treat myself to some Chanel or Charlotte Tilbury!

Dontsayyouloveme · 12/03/2023 23:20

A skin tightening device!

surreygirl1987 · 12/03/2023 23:57

A garmin or fit bit type thing.
