Best tinted moisturiser

Looking for a tinted moisturiser for sensitive skin. My skin is dry and my current foundation is looking a little 'cakey' so wanting something more natural looking.

I've tried a few but my skin is sooo sensitive, currently off the list are Nivea, L'Oreal & No 7.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as reasonably priced as possible.

Thanks

Hope you can see this. Ignore ancient gardening hands. At the top is the IT CC in fair light, and underneath is Estée Lauder 1C1 Futurist Hydra.

Nars for me too!

Definitelycross · 03/03/2023 19:03

I've got the Nars one as my problem was exactly the same, cakey looking.

The Nars is great but I've found I've got to use it very sparingly as a little goes a very long way. Same as the Nars concealer too.

I bought the Eborian one but it feels too heavy.

I used to use a Lancôme foundation in a jar it was beautiful and so moisturising. I looked at the Bobbi Brown WTF foundation as that looks very moisturising but I couldn't order it.

But, yes, another vote for Nars in the meantime.

I got a little pot of the Nars one yesterday to try. I got colour matched (in store) as Norwich. Bit of a disappointing name when there's other shade names like Havana, Marrakesh and St Moritz. Grin

😂😂

I have been trying various ones lately:
Erborian CC: Both shades turned me orange
Boots No7 City Light: Zero coverage. I mean, I know it's a mosituriser, but I was hoping for a bit of blurring at least
Min3 range from available from superdrug: Pretty good actually, similar price point to Erborian, but again, the shades I chose were a bit too warm

I'm currently trialling a bunch of samples of CC and BB cream from PHB ethical beauty in various shades

katsue · 03/03/2023 19:41

La Roche Posay CC is light but gives a healthy glow.

WellTidy · 03/03/2023 19:42

@So1invictus I am the same colour as you in Estée Lauder 1C1 cool bone. I swapped from Estée Lauder to Clinique Even Better after EL stopped making doublewear light. I like it (I have a great colour match) but don’t absolutely love it. Please could I ask whether you rate the futurist hydra, and what kind of coverage and effect it gives you? I have bought EL for nearly 30 years (v brand loyal!) and would like to try their foundations again now that I’m closer to forgiving them about discontinuing doublewear light.

TheChosenTwo · 03/03/2023 19:45

I’ve just impulse bought the Rare Beauty one in the hope that it spurs me into making a bit of an effort again. Foundation isn’t for me anymore, I don’t think I’ll even bother much with tinted moisturiser but it’s really nice, I guessed an amazing colour match for me too! Looks nice on my skin but I do think if you had very textured skin it might not look as fresh. That’s possibly true for all base products though really; the better your skin the better everything applies and looks unless I suppose you’re a very skilled makeup applier (which I’m not!).

Bohemond · 03/03/2023 19:46

Definitely try Trinny BFF. It is light like a tinted moisturiser but you can use over moisturiser and it doesn't cake.

Shocked33 · 03/03/2023 19:54

Sorry to jump on but what's the difference between the eborian cc and BB?

CheeseandGherkins · 03/03/2023 20:32

@So1invictus thank you again. Ooh it is darker than I would have thought, definitely need to go lighter. Appreciate you taking the time to swatch them for me, it has really helped. Flowers

So1invictus · 04/03/2023 06:00

@WellTidy I've only used it once (splurged on that and the IT at the same time) but it's lovely. It reminds me of N7 Hydraluminous which is my holy grail tbh. I went for that rather than Clinique Even Better Refresh which I want to try because I know exactly what colour I am in EL.

@Shocked33 The BB is more like a western foundation, it's excellent. The CC is a thinner consistency and goes on white then does its CC thing (sadly in my case even the lightest shade turned me orange- unfortunately you can't see it until you try it as it goes on white)

@CheeseandGherkins you're welcome!

So1invictus · 04/03/2023 06:01

@yaboreme apologies for hijack! Do tell us what you go for and I'll probably buy some, I've never used a tinted moisturizer!

Oh dear! Still... Could have been worse... Scunthorpe or Skegness or Bognor Regis. Imagine a foreign lady who doesn't know much about England and they are clutching 'Scunthorpe' imagining sunny sandy beach and tropical palms ha ha ha!

Deathraystare · 04/03/2023 09:36

To be fair since I am from the south I should mention Margate or Shoeburyness too!

bonjello · 04/03/2023 10:21

There's always samples of erborian things on ebay. I got a sample of the redness correct from there.

yaboreme · 04/03/2023 22:06

@So1invictus haha don't worry! It's been great to see everyone's tips!!

I've ordered from Nars, believe the shade is Vienna! See what it's like and I'll let you all know!

Thanks again, and do carry on. I'll probably buy a hundred

Oh I've just bought a small tube of Laura Mercier as even the Nars one isn't quite right.

Ohmygoodness I look like I've slept really well and drunk all the water.

They do small size tubes in Look Fantastic.

superplumb · 14/03/2023 16:15

Clinique is nice. I think it only comes in 1 shade though

theoldhasgone · 14/03/2023 16:26

I've started using No 7 Hydraluminous Aquarelease Skin Perfector and it is great. I have to mix the Light and Fair shades for a match, but I like the very light coverage that just evens me out.

BotterMon · 14/03/2023 16:50

Clarins ReBoost Healthy Glow Tinted Gel-cream. It's brilliant.

BigFloppa · 14/03/2023 16:52

I bought Rimmel skin tint as an emergency buy and it's actually not bad.

Crikeyalmighty · 14/03/2023 16:54

I like la Roche posay and IT and Lumene
