Hair goes greasy in less than 24hours

Looking for an inexpensive way to help my constantly greasy hair!!

I have combination skin, dry in some patches and oily in others, so I know there is only so much I can do to help my scalp.

If I wash my hair of a morning, the following morning it looks like it desperately needs washing. Oily at the roots but also dry frizzy ends.

At the moment I’m using a basic Pantene pro-v shampoo (shampooing twice) and a dove conditioner (only at the ends). Occasionally using one of the garnier hair masks. I generally get whatever shampoo and conditioners are on offer in boots

I use a tresemme heat protectant and blow dry with a Dyson.

Any suggestions without it costing me a fortune? I’m guessing I should be starting off with a clarifying shampoo for any product buildup

Body Shop do a Tea Tree hair scrub which is brilliant. I find a tea tree based shampoo is good for greasy hair, and I like kids vosene 3 in 1 which has tea tree and eucalyptus in it.

I wash everyday, and I manage the greasiness with the vosene!

Forgot to mention the conditioner that I use now is KERATIN by Kallos cosmetics, it’s cheap to buy and really good. My highlighted hair was really suffering and I couldn’t find anything to solve this, it isn’t overly heavy and my hair feels beautiful now. I use a Treseme moisture shampoo, due to the menopause my hair has gone so dry, and I’m surprised how good it is. I have collar length hair and can last a week now without washing it, tying it up near the end of the week. I remember the silicone build up causing so many problems, burning itchy scalp and greasy hair within a day. The silicone free shampoos are not expensive, I wish you luck, it’s so bloody annoying trying to find a solution.

I have just learnt to embrace that I need to wash my hair every morning as nothing will change it for me (you name it, I've tried it!)
Sometimes I go every other day but the second day is horrible so I use a ton of dry shampoo and tie it up but to be honest it's quicker and easier (and i feel better about it) to just wash it everyday in the shower.

Yep, my thoughts entirely

If you start using silicone free shampoo do you need to use something special first to get rid of all the build up or does it just gradually go?

Living proof dry shampoo is a good way to get an extra day before a wash.

Try Ultimate Blends Delicate Oat Milk Shampoo and conditioner (if you use it) by Garnier. Its worked for me, sometimes I wouldn't even get the luxury of 24 hours. It was often to the point where my head was sore from scrubbing. I'm now down to washing and conditioning it just 3 days a week. (Sun, Tues, Thurs)

The silicone free shampoo will eventually get rid of the build up. Herbal Essence was the one I used, hairdressers recommend clarifying shampoos, it’s not expensive either. You can alternate your regime once it’s under control.

You just need a normal SLS shampoo that's silicone free.

I know I already posted this but honestly shampoo bars are amazing. Day 2 always used to be so greasy (and I used lots of the shampoo suggestions on here) but now even on day 3 it looks better than day 2 ever used to do and only the roots get greasy but not the rest of it.
