Jowl lifting

RandomnMe · 24/02/2023 21:53

To deal with my drooping face, especially jowls, there seem to be 3 non-surgical choices (can’t afford all - i have CACIs already and use Nuface):

Radio frequency and micro needling (Morpheus 8)vs
Plasma vs
Profhilo

Anyone had experience of any or combined them? Shirley Ballas had Morpheus 8 and Plasma, Andy Murray’s mum Morpheous 8.

Anyone had them done or know someone had them done? Anyone have their own before after pics ? Pros cons?

I’m not interested in threading or surgery.

Hi OP. I have the same issue and bumping for you.

I have up on CACI, it worked but became time consuming and expensive. I am considering the 10 min face lift by Dr Dray.

isitme111 · 25/02/2023 20:12

I'm not sure if prophilo will help. I had it done for my saggy neck, but it didn't make a huge amount of difference.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 25/02/2023 20:22

I know you don’t want it but the only way to a good and permanent result is surgery.

LindorDoubleChoc · 25/02/2023 20:23

Face yoga is free!

isitme111 · 25/02/2023 21:14

But how effective is face yoga

Emsb2022 · 25/02/2023 21:34

I've bought myself the Rio neck toner, will see how that goes...

LindorDoubleChoc · 25/02/2023 21:49

If you google face yoga you can see some before and after pics in exactly the same way you can see some before and after pics of surgery, or any other treatment.

StaceyMeloni · 25/02/2023 22:42

fillers. I have fillers in my cheek which lifts the jowls.

Delatron · 25/02/2023 22:45

I like profhilo but it does nothing for jowls.

I’ve had Sofwave which is an ultrasound treatment similar to Ultherapy. But it’s expensive. Gives some tightening under the jaw but not dramatic for the money.

My next step would be fillers but I’m a bit scared at the moment.

Also have tried Nuface and Foreo Bear. Again makes a little bit of a difference.

Ohchristmastreeohchristmastree · 26/02/2023 08:36

Fillers might work. My jawline is more jowly on one side, I think it is because my jaw by my ear isn’t so large/weak jawline.

Some celebs have had jawline implants to give them a more aesthetically pleasing jawline and it also ages much better. Angelina Jolie had this when she was very young.

Ultimately a facelift is the most well lasting thing you can do, but a good bone structure (made by fillers) may help.

Those jawline fillers look good. That’s my next consideration. My doctor talks about fillers along the jawline and in the temples to add ‘structure’ to the face.

BlackSwan · 26/02/2023 13:05

I've had morpheus8, Ultraformer (hi-fu), and have some devices at home.
Nothing worked for my jowls...
I have just had some jaw filler, which has definitely improved one side, but the other is still feeling a bit lumpy.

I had contacted a surgeon about a facelift - he said to give it a few years (i'm late 40's).

RandomnMe · 02/03/2023 17:06

its alot of money isn’t it? There are mixed reviews 😢

RandomnMe · 02/03/2023 17:07

Oh that’s interesting. I must say following my post I’ve started looking at surgical jowl lifts which can be done under local anaesthetic ❤️

dontstereotype · 02/03/2023 17:08

I wouldn't have cheek fillers.

Personally I feel that it makes it look very obvious you've had work done and changes your face shape too much!

fillers scare me even more than the other options but good luck 🤞🏼

That’s exactly what scares me (and the safety of plastics in the body) 😰

I’m coming down on the side of surgery under local anaesthetic

it’s really hard to know the best thing to do 😕

Yeah I’m not there yet!

I agree about cheek fillers with the other poster. I think they are very hard to get right. I have high cheekbones so not recommended. I think I would only consider a tiny amount along the jaw at some point and maybe temples but nothing near the middle of my face to avoid that puffy look.

They also last a lot longer than manufacturers claim. Hence many people being overfilled. If people are told 1 year to 18 months and they keep going back and getting more and actually they still have filler in their face that is when problems can occur.

The journalist Alice Hart Davies had MRI done recently on her fillers and she still had filler from 10+ years ago. It’s a complicated area!

DuvetDownn · 02/03/2023 17:18

I have fillers in the jowl
area once a year and the cheeks ever other time and it’s amazing, I no longer we look sad or grumpy.

thank you - there’s so much to consider! I hate that fake look where you can definitely tell. I’d rather look old and jowly than fake. So many options too and I’ve no idea what the best thing yo do. It’s wording that it’s still in the body 10 years later. Think I’d rather have surgery to be honest! 🙈

I've got an appointment next week at cosmetic skin clinic so I'll report back. I'm interested in Ultherapy I think. Like you, I don't want fillers. I also stopped botox, which I used to get, just as I think it starts to look weird when the rest of your face starts to sag! I do get profhilo though, and I really like how it makes my skin look.

GlamGiraffe · 02/03/2023 20:16

I disagree with @dontstereotype .
I have had tiny amounts of cheek filler a couple of times and it helps lift the jowls and freshen you up with out changing your face( if it's done minimally by someone good). My friends are blunt and none of them realised if had it done - they would have come straight out with it if they thought so.

Careful use of differr3nt type of product, quantity and positioning by someone really good can make a positive difference that definitely doesn't look 'done'. People will notice only that you look well. Don't rule it out without maybe having a consult with someone good

CamoFlamingo · 03/03/2023 06:47

Don't bother with Profhilo - it barely lasts a couple of days IME. I've only ever had radio frequency once as part of a facial bundle but my beautician says it's very popular among her clients for firming jawlines. Do you drink OP? Giving up alcohol did wonders for my jawline.
