Jowl lifting

RandomnMe · 24/02/2023 21:53

To deal with my drooping face, especially jowls, there seem to be 3 non-surgical choices (can’t afford all - i have CACIs already and use Nuface):

Radio frequency and micro needling (Morpheus 8)vs
Plasma vs
Profhilo

Anyone had experience of any or combined them? Shirley Ballas had Morpheus 8 and Plasma, Andy Murray’s mum Morpheous 8.

Anyone had them done or know someone had them done? Anyone have their own before after pics ? Pros cons?

I’m not interested in threading or surgery.

I agree that well done filler is not noticeable, just makes you look more fresh. The shiny pumped up faces are way overdone

Don't bother with Profhilo - it barely lasts a couple of days IME. I've only ever had radio frequency once as part of a facial bundle but my beautician says it's very popular among her clients for firming jawlines. Do you drink OP? Giving up alcohol did wonders for my jawline.

Ah yes I do drink but not huge amounts. My dads side of the family all have big jowls though so suspect I can’t do a great deal with them 😥. I’m seriously contemplating a jowl lift which you can get done under local anaesthetic now.

That’s what scares me! Think Madonna 😰

I cant find reference to a jowl lift under local anaesthetic, does it have a particular name?

I can find a mini face lift which concentrates on the lower face and neck, is that the same thing but thats under a general.

minidancer · 13/03/2023 20:40

I've had a lower facelift under local. Good results, no pain and back at work in a week

RandomnMe · 13/03/2023 21:46

I think that it’s called a v lift. I saw another poster share her before and after pics. They were very good.

Oh please do share pics, suitably anonymised of course 😁I’m coming to the conclusion it’s the only thing that will really work and is more long term. Works out about the same as the hifu, plasma, radio frequency etc when you have several of them over a course of time

For those with pre-jowls who are definitely not ready for any kind of surgical intervention... having tried every tried of non-filler alternative known to man (microneedling, home devices galore etc) I have to say that some well placed jawline filler has really improved my jawline. I had a small amount placed one week and went back a fortnight later for a review, and a bit more correction done. I'm happy. Let's see how long it lasts.

minidancer · 16/03/2023 06:51

I can't really share pics without being recognised. Sorry! Definitely a simply procedure and really no pain just a bit of tightness.

BlackSwan · 16/03/2023 07:41

Great that you’re happy with the results. Where did you go minidancer, was it in the UK?
if in London would you please 🙏 PM the details?

minidancer · 16/03/2023 07:44

It wasn't in London. It was up north as it was much cheaper. Happy to let you know privately but not sure how I do that?

Ooh good for you! Could you post the clinic or doctors details here?

Thighlengthboots · 16/03/2023 07:51

Ive had morpheus 8 and whilst it made my facial skin look amazing, it did nothing whatsoever for jowels/loose chin skin. Fillers can make your profile appear more balanced but you'll have to keep having them and at £700 a pop you'll be spending that regularly. Judy Murray hasnt just had morpheus 8 either- she's had other work done- my surgeon told me that.

Also agree that Profhilo is crap and did nothing.

I'm booked in for a deep plane neck lift in April- that will get rid of it all.

Thighlengthboots · 16/03/2023 07:53

For those asking about lower face lift under local, you can find before/after photos here on Bella Vue website, its called the concept facial and its around £12-15k
www.bellavou.co.uk/concept-facelift-landing-page-2022/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Search%20-%20Facelift&utm_content=Concept%20Facelift%20(Broad)&utm_term=b_concept%20facelift&gclid=CjwKCAjw_MqgBhAGEiwAnYOAetpxUdKG5O4_JsPUlyYR0rvI6UkKnzSfTQYuVq2YrKpFWzvRlJ-FsxoCHfMQAvD_BwE

minidancer · 16/03/2023 08:10

Mine was done under local and was less than half that price. I agree that profhilo doesn't do much. Micro needling definitely helps the skin but did nothing for the laxity. I've also had lumecca which I really rate but again for skin quality not laxity.

minidancer · 16/03/2023 08:11

Just looked at that link, they include the neck which I didn't need just yet so just Gad the lower face so that may be why there's a difference in cost.

YellowHatt · 04/08/2023 09:31

Did you decide on any of the options in the end @RandomnMe? I’m mulling things over now and found this thread.

@BlackSwan did you find anywhere you’re happy with in/near London?

RandomnMe · 04/08/2023 17:54

@YellowHatt i tried one RadioFrequency treatment and it had no effect other than losing £400 but you are meant to have three. I was reading about RF and links to cancer which are tenuous but still a bit of concern. I have ended up getting a Mialift which is microcurrent at home device which is pretty good. There is a laser I’m considering from Current Body and most people say it’s really good….

I am starting to get jowls and o agree it’s depressing. I didn’t know the coat was so high! How about lifting the skin with threads? I know that if done well it looks great but i heard enough horror stories to put me off.

RudsyFarmer · 04/08/2023 17:59

*cost

FeelingPrickly · 04/08/2023 19:02

I’ve had Forma a few times and found that it does plump things up a bit and look more lifted.

CamoFlamingo · 05/08/2023 15:38

£400???

fillerface · 05/08/2023 20:21

I've had a non surgical facelift using filler. She basically puts filler in different areas of your face which creates kind of scaffolding which lifts everything up a bit. I had under eye, cheekbones , nose to mouth lines and marionette lines (this just lifted sides of mouth a bit)
I definitely look a lot fresher but still completely like me and (I hope) natural. It helped my jowls but I am going to have some jaw and chin filler for a bit more definition.

fillerface · 05/08/2023 20:21

I do think filler can be really good but as long as you find the right person. I've seen some shockers too.

NeverMrsAgain · 05/08/2023 20:35

My hairdresser has tiny amount of filler to lift and you’d never know.

I might trust him to do fillers for me. He looks completely natural.
