I believe it is called the orange panic? I got the henna on my hair did a terrible job and now my greying strawberry blonde hair is shocking orange (used Lush Venetian). Now I am trying to hide the vibrancy in the Google team meetings - thank fuck I work from home! Desperately googling what to do getting too many options and need some advice. Do I brave it out like I meant to look like this? Do I double down use more henna in a darker shade to look less orangey? Wtf do I do?

That looks fabulous. Totally keep it.

FlemCandango · 21/02/2023 07:35

Thank you all - I am in breakfast/ school run mode but will reply properly later. I think it is the shock andthat I will need to wear make up and different colours to match the glow of my hair... I am in the charity field so not formal but generally not very fashion forward either.

OP, I'm another fan of your hair! I would love to know what colour you were before if you could post a pic, and what product you used?

QuertyGirl · 21/02/2023 07:45

Looks brilliant!

Bit of serum for shine and it'll be even more awesome

= sludge coloured

UniversalAunt · 21/02/2023 08:05

Good comments from @BatildaB.

Generally Renaissance Henna is a good source of information natural hair colouring & sells quality products.

renaissancehenna.com/

Khadi is also good stuff: www.khadi.de/en/hair/natural-hair-color/

CascaChan · 21/02/2023 08:13

I wouldn’t put a box dye with ammonia in over henna. I think you should just keep it, it looks good. If you really want to fade it quickly get head and shoulders shampoo, but the previous henna might complicate things. Manic panic dyes fade really quickly with any shampooing. If you want to keep it vibrant as long as possible wash as little as possible, try just a conditioner wash in between shampoos and use cold water.

CascaChan · 21/02/2023 08:16

Also should add colour correction should be done by a hairdresser really, trust me you will save yourself some pain! I have a long history of hair colouring mishaps!

lurchermummy · 21/02/2023 08:41

If it's henna don't put a box dye on it for gods sake it will go green

diddl · 21/02/2023 09:29

I also think it looks great.

Stealth boast methinks?😄

Theunamedcat · 21/02/2023 09:34

Keep it you look great 👍

FlemCandango · 21/02/2023 09:39

Honestly not a stealth boast I feel very conflicted about it. Still do if I looked like Milla Jovovich I could maybe chill. But maybe I need to find my inner Vivienne - and change my wardrobe. So I needed some advice and appreciate the support.

It looks brilliant and totally salon-esque. Agree with another poster - would love to see a picture of the 'before' you to enjoy fully the transformational effect.

Goodread1 · 21/02/2023 09:50

Hi Op

I would just think you were paying alternative homage to vivienne Westwood Punk fashion designer or just re living you youth, in some way,

depending on what age 🤔 you are,

If you are extrovert type of person I think you can style it out, ?.
If

Soozikinzii · 21/02/2023 09:53

Head and shoulders will take the colour down a bit

MarshaBradyo · 21/02/2023 09:56

It’s a stand out colour so I guess part of it is how comfortable you feel

If you feel good then it can look good

FlemCandango · 21/02/2023 09:57

I am 48 which means I am not quite punk era

Old hair - shorter now but that is the colour it was before Sunday.

OP posts:
FlemCandango · 21/02/2023 10:04

It was really dry and lifeless which that pic doesn't really capture the condition of my dyed hair is pretty good but the colour is what I am wobbly about. I don't want to panic into doing anything else, but I get palpitations thinking about going to the shops.

OP posts:
Hohoholdthesherry · 21/02/2023 10:19

I think it looks fabulous. And remember about going into shops, that it's shocking to you as it's a big change, but it won't be shocking to people who don't know you.

Get your brightest colour top on and off to Tescos 😉

purpledalmation · 21/02/2023 10:19

I really like it!

I think a lilac toner would actually not work as it's just too strawberry blonde. Only thing is a darker shade of ash brown to tone it down.
