Long lasting perfumes with great projection

Out of the perfumes I own, the ones that have great projection are:
Baccarat Rouge
Le Labo Another 13
Dior Addict
Angel
CK one
L'interdit

I'd love some recommendations for some more long lasting perfumes that other people can actually smell!

I find YSL Libre Intense is pretty powerful.

I've also had compliments from random strangers when I wear Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle, so I guess it must project!

broomers · 16/02/2023 15:06

Thierry Mugler - alien. It's quite a strong smell but it's the only perfume I've worn where strangers have complimented me. I'd say more of an evening perfume than day to day though.

Black opium
people always comment on it

I agree about Another 13! Love that scent

LadyOfTheCanyon · 16/02/2023 15:17

I can smell Baccarat Rouge and its many knock offs ( Ariana Grande I'm looking at you...) a mile off because they give me an Instant, overpowering front of head headache. And I absolutely love perfume.

Anything with Oud in it will only come out in the next wash

Below are the scents that in my opinion people massively overspray. They have good silage to start with but when someone really fills a room with a fragrance they are usually wearing one of these

Any of the Poison family
Shalimar
Obsession
Alien ( Alien Goddess slightly less so)
Chanel Coco
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle
Flowerbomb
Tom Ford Black Orchid/ Velvet Orchid etc
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
YSL Mon Paris
Lancôme Poeme
Samsara
Rush
Amarige.

Miller Harris Scherzo, gorgeous perfume with great longevity and projection.

Prada Paradoxe is very strong, in the same vein as L’Interdit and Libre etc.

So1invictus · 16/02/2023 15:27

@LadyOfTheCanyon you are wrong...anything with Oudh in will be the last thing standing when we've all been wiped out by alien beings/Vlad. There'll be cockroaches wandering round SMELLING OF OUDH!

OP- parfum rather than toilette will last longer, and chypres/ambres/ gourmands will last more than citruses.

This week I've worn (and they've lasted all day)
Opium
Shalimar
Samsara
24 Rue Faubourg
31 Rue Cambon
Bandit

In fairness all my winter perfumes last as they're spicy chypres/ambres or hefty white florals. In summer whatever I wear needs a top up usual ly during the day.

mintich · 16/02/2023 15:31

I forgot DKNY women from my list. I used to hate it but now I love it, but you only need a tiny spray.

@ladyofthecanyon agree about Baccarat Rouge. I love the scents but it needs to be used sparingly!

I get lots of compliments about smelling lovely, even at the end of a long day, when I wear Michael Kors Glam Jasmine.

PrinceHaz · 16/02/2023 15:43

Clinique Elixir

cocopops · 16/02/2023 15:44

Definitely Alien. You always know when someone nearby has it on. My absolute favourite.

dustydewdrop · 16/02/2023 15:52

And Ellie Saab Girl of Now is another that people noticed

Babdoc · 16/02/2023 16:03

Why do you want such a strong perfume that other people can smell it from a distance? Firstly they might not like the smell, but secondly (and more importantly) many migraine sufferers have their attacks triggered by strong perfumes, particularly those containing musk.
My poor DD has had to leave a restaurant meal early, missing a family celebration, after vomiting in the toilet with a ferocious headache, due to a stinky perfume on a woman at the next table.
Perfume should be just for the wearer, not inflicted on everyone passing by.

Mxflamingnoravera · 16/02/2023 16:31

My boss once told me I was to tell a member of my team that her perfume was awful and too strong, I told him to tell her himself if he hated it that much. (But secretly I hated it too and was too wimpy to tell her).

Phrenologistsfinger · 16/02/2023 16:39

Mmm, the lovely scent of endocrine disruption…

Please don’t project your scent too far, some of us are trying to avoid artificial fragrances!

Phrenologistsfinger · 16/02/2023 16:42

I use perfumes free of such things like pthalates, so not a total killjoy but people need to know if they are potentially harming themselves without realising.

Backing away slowly now!

Comeback25 · 16/02/2023 17:22

Another vote for Clinique Aromatics. Love it and you can smell it on clothes for days.

Ponderingwindow · 16/02/2023 17:25

Why? Why would you intentionally do this to people with fragrance allergies.

we don’t enjoy hives or swollen airways.

So1invictus · 16/02/2023 17:32

Thankfully in Europe, regulations over phthalates in cosmetics and perfume is highly regulated, and getting more and more stringent all the time. Unlike the US (where that article is from) where it's all still a bit of a free for all.
You'll have a job on your hands to avoid artificial fragrances though. Unless you literally live in a sterile environment.
