Has anyone found an under eye concealer that actually covers dark circles?!

I despair trying to find something that works. I’ve always had dark areas under my eyes but as I get older they seem harder to disguise. I used to like Clarins instant concealer & then they discontinued it. It’s now back so I bought it & it doesn’t cover them anymore & I feel like I’ve wasted £20! I’ve been to various beauty counters but none have covered the dark enough to justify the cost.
When I apply anything it just seems to look dry & crepey even though I use an eye cream.
I look tired & pale, getting me down.

Can anyone tell me of something that will actually cover them and not look caked on?

The YSL one is very good.
As I’ve got older the dark under my eyes has got worse and worse and I’ve realised the area has kind of sunk as in its lost volume. I’m looking into tear trough filler now!!

Have you tried the maybelline rewind ... not in a shade .. the brightener one?

I like Glossier stretch concealer. It’s not amazing coverage BUT it has lovely texture and is buildable. I rebuy it (and use it instead of foundation quite often as it’s nice and dewy)

PrincessHoneysuckle · 14/02/2023 22:13

Have you looked into tear trough fillers?

chillie · 14/02/2023 22:28

Shockingly the il mackiage one actually works. I am Asian and my circles are like panda eyes and this actually works. What is especially good about it is that you don't have to also wear foundation over your whole face to make it work.

silverbubbles · 14/02/2023 22:30

Touche eclat

PamDooove · 14/02/2023 22:33

Bobby brown corrector and concealer and I use clarins face tan drops so that the circles don't look so obvious against my pasty white face.

Changingplace · 14/02/2023 22:33

The Beauty pie under eye genius is amazing.

SmokyForTheWin · 14/02/2023 22:35

As @PamDooove says, Bobbi Brown colour corrector stick.

validnumber · 14/02/2023 22:38

I was using boots own no 7 (is it?! But they changed the colours and packaging and the new one isn't the same.
Loads of makeup give me those spots under the skin (milia?) so I don't know what to do.
I've tried Bobby brown but that gave me panda eyes.
Was thinking of trying the Trinny blur cream.

Rodial - banana lowlighter

tigerbear · 14/02/2023 23:06

Kosas concealer. Doesn’t dry out the under eye.

icelollycraving · 14/02/2023 23:09

I really like Revolution pro concealer. Depending on your colouring I used to like ysl touché eclat but it’s a highlighter rather than concealer.

journeyofinsanity · 14/02/2023 23:16

If you have very prominent darkness you may be better using a colour corrector then a concealer

HashBrownandBeans · 14/02/2023 23:19

Tear trough filler and a dab of Beauty Pie under eye genius. After years of trowelling on the concealer and powder, I’ve finally cracked it

FadoFado · 15/02/2023 00:11

a swipe of colour corrector followed by a swipe of concealer

far more effective than piling on the concealer.

RoxieLoxy · 15/02/2023 00:22

Try a mid to dark pink cream blusher first (it'll look awful but bear with 😆) - that acts as a strong colour corrector. Then I use Beauty Pie concealer and then Studio 10 Hyrda lift I concealer. I have bad dark circles and it works. You may not need both concealers but this works well for me without creasing etc.

SenecaFallsRedux · 15/02/2023 00:49

In my experience, the problem is that if the dark circles are caused by shadows from puffiness, concealers won't help much.

extrasushiplease · 15/02/2023 01:06

I had the same issue until I started color correcting, and it made all the difference. Obviously high quality products work the best, but even "meh" concealers work 1000% more effectively with correcting. I'm currently using the Makeup Revolution Eye Bright Corrector, and it's very nice for the price and not remotely dry, so it's perfect for undereye skin. All my concealers lay beautifully on top of it too.

disneydatknee · 15/02/2023 01:15

Colour corrector first. I use the tarte colour corrector very close to my shade..which I could honestly use on its own on a non makeup day. Very thin layer of this. Tiny bit, warm my finger on it and tap it in before a little bit of concealer. The less product around the eye the better.

mackthepony · 15/02/2023 01:16

Wear fake tan and only colours that you suit

User404 · 15/02/2023 02:05

Hey @Littlemiss74 ,

I feel your pain, colour corrector is your friend.

I was contemplating travelling to Scotland (from the South of England) for tear trough fillers! However since discovering Nars colour corrector all of those thoughts have disappeared.

Now, I always look bright- eyed and bushy tailed! Only a tiny, and I mean infinitesimal amount is needed, to achieve a big effect. I use an eye liner brush to apply a thin line of product to a very specific area of my face.

These two videos explain very well, how and where to apply:

MAC peach colour corrector worked fantastically but they discontinued it years ago. Some others I used to use like Benefit Boi ing I can't use anymore because of how my skin has aged 😢

SunshineAndFizz · 15/02/2023 05:22

YSL has always been my go to.
