Jeans and a ‘nice top’

So short of ‘nice tops’

i have jeans of every shape, leather trousers and skirts- but my top half is a bit lacklustre. I went out to the pub earlier and felt like I dressed exactly the same as if I had popped to the supermarket.

I have either basic casual tops- wraparound, striped bretons, plain shirts and a few ‘going out tops’ which are pre covid and just aren’t my style any more.

Can anyone suggest a ‘nice top’ to go with mom jeans or flares? Anyone bought anything nice lately?

OMG, I think now I'm 50 there really is no hope for me. Not a single one of these tops is something I would wear. I spent most of my life in jeans and trainers. Being a bastard apple shape with big boobs doesn't help, but I would not wear any of these. To me the floral ones look dowdy. I wouldn't wear anything with a high neck (big boobs and high necks don't mix!). The only one I liked was the black low neck long sleeve asos top. But it's cropped waist (why is EVERYTHING cropped waist at the moment? argh!), so again, not having a waist means I can't wear that either! It is bloody annoying! End of rant!

I'm 53 & wouldn't wear most of the tops posted here. I do like the 2 ME+EM blouses & the Mint Velvet posted.
It's a tough one to get right

Look at it from a different view point. If you are wearing what you wear on a night out to Aldi, maybe you're the best dressed person there shopping.

While all you ladies are gathered here searching, I am after some nice tops that don't come up to my neck, I am so over all the pie crusts. Need something to draw attention to my fantastic tits so no one pays any attention to my turkey neck. Maybe not that bad but I am slightly paranoid about ageing.

Never mind, if I bought everything I thought looked gorgeous I would be in big trouble. I do think stylish washable silk shirts that don't look like work shirts and don't cost £200 are in short supply. I do have one rather nice silk shirt that meets that criteria though, probably don't need another as I don't dress up that often! And I'm determined to stick to my no buy plan.
