If you're a 12, sometimes 14, what size are you in Zara?

I've not been in a Zara for more than 10 years as there isn't one nearby but have vague memories of their sizes running small.

I'm usually a 12 but sometimes take a 14 in European brands that cater to smaller-framed women as I have broad shoulders and a large chest.

I'm looking at some Zara things on Ebay, I'm just wondering if I would be a medium or a large in their tops? (Or even XL 😬)?

Thanks for any help.

I'm a 10-12 with 32b/c bust. I tried a shirt dress in Zara and couldn't get an XL to button up over my boobs.

MistyRock · 09/02/2023 15:28

I'm a 14 to 16 and an XL but sometimes I can't get my bust in as I'm a 34FF.

lindyloo57 · 09/02/2023 15:37

I would say large, I wear a 10 or 12 in most shops zara a med sometimes a large, I brought a large size new with tags top from ebay but it was too big , trying to resell, I give up with zara unless I'm instore.

BoredOfThisMansWorld · 10/02/2023 10:42

I've just sent back a pair of Zara jeans claiming to be size 16 (website admitted they ran small so I sized up) whose waist measured 30.5 inches! Not even free returns either. Sob.

Verite1 · 10/02/2023 11:07

Zara sizing is pretty inconsistent but overall I find they are cut small at the bust. I’m a 10 and I’m a small or medium depending on how loose the top is meant to be. Sometimes even a medium is too small if it is particularly close fitting. So I would say try a large but don’t be surprised (or downhearted) if you need XL.

If you have a picture of the items to put on, we may be able to tell you whether the style of the items run small or not, but generally I would say a large, unless it's a trafaluc item, then XL.
I worked there for a lot of years and it used toe a general guide of S=8, m=10, L= 12/ small 14, XL = 14/small 16 in tops.

They're made on a long, lean model, so if it's something cut with a seam at the bust, or a fitted dress, size up for hips and bust. However if it's something oversized, you can normally size down comfortably.

I'm a size 14 pear, and I would normally buy a large in tops, XL in dresses, and 16 and cross my fingers in trousers 😂

Trafaluc is aimed towards teenage/ young customers, so is narrower still. Woman range tends to fit more classically. Basic varies on product style.

I'm a 12, sometimes 14 and I've got Zara stuff in everything from a S to XL. I never ever buy on line, only in store where I can try every single size on.

JMAngel1 · 10/02/2023 16:17

I’m 6/8 and I usually get M. I got stuck in a S dress once in the changing room - it was mortifying!

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 10/02/2023 16:40

I always go L -XLin Zara, and only buy from Zara Woman, more expensive but better cut for my shape. I am hourglass so need things cut for boobs and hips

Alwayswonderedwhy · 10/02/2023 16:43

I rarely buy from Zara since getting fat but the latest pair of trousers I bought are an XL. I'm a size 14

OsirisservesAnubis · 10/02/2023 19:41

I'm a 14 bottom (10/12 top) and I can't fit in Zara trousers.

MissAtomicBomb1 · 10/02/2023 21:14

I'm a similar size & L fits best

I'm a size 6/8 (5'4 in height) and wear a 34 or S or XS. Usually an XS.

I'm a 14 bottom (10/12 top) and I can't fit in Zara trousers.

I tried on four pairs of Zara XL trousers on the same shopping trip (slightly different styles) and fit in precisely one of them. I’m a 14, occasionally 16 pear-shape.

mumofthemonsters808 · 10/02/2023 21:36

I’m another one saying Large, the sizing is small and inconsistent.

underneaththeash · 10/02/2023 21:39

beguilingeyes · 09/02/2023 10:40

I can never get Zara stuff to fit me. I'm a 14. I had a coat once, that's about it.

Me neither, I’m a 10!
nothing ever fits.

ThePoshUns · 10/02/2023 21:51

I'm a 12/14 but never buy from Zara as nothing ever fits me

tobee · 10/02/2023 22:53

Just sent back 2 x pairs of Zara jeans (as recommended on here). I'm size 14 but I don't know if a Zara 18 would fit me after trying them. Maybe I'm just deluded by my other shop choices?

Same here!

Muuuuuuuum · 10/02/2023 23:09

Another similar size person (12/14) who owns zero Zara items as they just don't fit me. I have same issue in Next.

H&M and Mango work for me on high street, also Warehouse but they are online only now I think...

Takemehomeagain · 10/02/2023 23:56

I would say L usually

Sparkleshine21 · 11/02/2023 00:01

If you’re shopping online you can enter your measurements and it will tell you which size for each item based on a survey of other customers of similar size who have purchased that item. I’m 12/14 and sadly
it is L/XL in Zara.

Shopgirl1 · 11/02/2023 09:56

I agree L or XL. I’m a 10 and their M fits me pretty consistently.

PAFMO · 11/02/2023 13:27

I'm a busty 12, so a 14 in M&S, Cos, Hobbes etc.
XXL in Zara.
Who can fuck off.

PAFMO · 11/02/2023 13:28

Zara is basically the opposite of Next.
If you're a 10 in real life, you'll be a massive elephantine XXL lump in Zara and a teeny tiny stick insect size 4 in Next.
