An eye make up remover that actually removes the make up?

I can't seem to find a decent eye make up remover - I don't wear much eye make up, but whatever I use to remove it struggles with the mascara. It's frustrating! Any recommendations, please?

DHC deep cleansing oil is great. Available in Superdrug. Removes eye make up without needing to rub and emulsifies and washes off with a bit of water really easily.

Another vote for Lancôme:
I wear strip lashes every day and they take the glue off brilliantly

This Nivea one www.boots.com/nivea-double-effect-waterproof-eye-make-up-remover-125ml-10306397

Nothing else is as good and I’ve tried them all !

I agree. I wear waterproof mascara and this gets it off.

Chamomile cleansing balm from the body shop is ace! W7 do a cheaper version too

WellTidy · 02/02/2023 18:45

The Garnier micellar water with the pink cap removed everything and quickly. I’ve used high end ones including the Lancôme that has been recommended, and the Garnier is just perfect. Always on offer somewhere too.

Amiable · 02/02/2023 19:38

Only thing that works for me is Garnier micellar water - the plain one. I've tried all sorts, expensive, cheap, but that is the only one I can rely on

Popsicle30 · 02/02/2023 19:39

Lancôme for me too. Works a treat, is gentle and lasts ages

justasking111 · 02/02/2023 19:43

Goats milk soap and warm water so creamy.

I'll get me coat 🙈

Madamswearsalot · 02/02/2023 19:49

I’m a fan of the la Roche posay Respectissime. It’s not 100% but is the best I’ve found. I firmly believe you need an oil based one for most mascaras. Might be trying the Lancôme one though - there’s always another one to try!!

LeatherSoledShoes · 02/02/2023 19:56

No7, the blue two layer one is very effective. I couldn't find any last time I needed it so bought Clarins which looks the same, smells absolutely beautiful but doesn't do a very good job at removing mascara.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 02/02/2023 20:05

Pink lid Garnier Micellar water all day long. I've been using it for years - from the day I discovered it was exactly the same as the Bioderma one I'd been using which was three times the price.

everythingsapickle · 02/02/2023 20:06

Lancôme. I’ve never used anything that’s come close to it - works a treat and doesn’t irritate my v sensitive/allergy prone mug

LookItsMeAgain · 02/02/2023 20:43

This is the best, and I genuinely mean the best eye makeup remover out there. So gentle on the eye area and it removes waterproof mascara and eyeliner.

Yes same here. Other stuff stings

Rina66 · 02/02/2023 21:03

Another vote for Nivea Double Effects Waterproof - it removes my waterproof mascara, no stinging or puffy eyes. I've tried Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Clarins, Simple, Beauty Pie and many more but only the Nivea really works. I used to love the Boots eye makeup remover pads in the little blue pot that got discontinued, I used them for years, I've been trying to find a replacement, Nivea is the best so far.

Coconut oil

Drunk Elephant melting butter cleanser

skywalkersweetie · 02/02/2023 21:36

Erase your face wash cloths! They're just like soft flannels but impregnated with something that removes makeup. Works every time, just put them in the washing machine after a few uses and comes out clean and ready to use again! Better for the environment too

RudsyFarmer · 02/02/2023 21:37

Primark does one in a turquoise bottle that works on waterproof mascara.

RudsyFarmer · 02/02/2023 21:39

Oh and I use Astral cream as I just like it. You rub it in and it takes my mascara off really well. Couple of rubs and wipe. Sorted. Vaseline also works well.

RiverSkater · 02/02/2023 21:39

I always use Vaseline first then the eye make up remover.

Completely agree. This is the only one that a) works and b) doesn’t make my eyes puffy afterwards

GalaxyBlobs · 02/02/2023 21:40

Get a tubing mascara (google it) - comes off with warm water without tugging and doesn't damage eyelashes as much.

CatNamedEaster · 02/02/2023 21:40

Body Shop camomile for me too.

Best tip I had is to put your eye make up remover on a pad/cloth then press it against your eye for 20 seconds before wiping. It means it really soaks into the make up and you then only have to wipe really gently to get it all off.
