What works for sagging jowls?
Droopyjaws · 25/01/2023 22:45
I’ve just noticed that I’m starting to get sagging jowls and they look awful! Is there anything that helps get rid/slow them down (other than a facelift which I won’t be having!)? A magic cream perhaps?! I’ve read that collagen supplements can help but not sure how much truth there is in that. Has anyone had any success with them and if so, what brand?
Thank you!!

Face yoga… hmmm… don’t forget that’s exactly how you get dynamic wrinkles. From repeated facial movements. Also I’m not sure I’d be doing anything to stretch and pull at already sagging skin. Even if it did work, you’d have to do it a lot.
Think very carefully about this.
Depends on the source. I've read plastic surgeons, and those that administer injectables are dismissive but they would be. I've been doing Eva Fraser for years, and at 51, I don't yet have many wrinkles. I do it mainly to help delay sagging.

Face yoga and no alcohol. I was starting to lose my jawline at 31 due to heavy drinking but it improved when I stopp.ed

This is why I asked about a Nefertiti lift the other day - it is Botox around your jowl and neck area.Wondered if anyone had tried it.

I am becoming more and more jowly and my neck is getting wrinkly.I’ve tried both the nefriti (spelling..) Botox neck lift and threads and neither really worked.

Another one here to say face yoga. I work my cheeks particularly hard and it lifts the whole face when they get plumper. I just do various youtube ones, but now I know which ones I like so I just do it without video when I'm working (work on my own from home) or when I watch TV. You look ridiculous doing it but it does really work.

Thanks for that feedback.

A face lift only lasts a decade at best. So these elderly ladies only had the one? 🤔
I guess if you have one at 50/60, by the time you start looking genuinely saggy again you're possibly into the not giving so much of a shit age/wanting to put yourself under again.

Dying young
living in an iron lung
moving to a reduced gravity area
all of the above
don’t think anything works. I’m embracing mine and hoping to make a feature of full grown wattle
I love your attitude!

Which ones do you do please? 😊

Mostly Koko Hayashi. She has quite a few on there, but there is one particular one for jowls/cheeks.

Not convinced by the face yoga. My main issue is turkey neck, and it's horrible. I know how I did it, too many years of sunbathing without sun cream, because I always had a very sensitive neck which I couldn't put anything on without it coming out in hives. I also think most is genetic, regardless of what you do. I have a pretty line free face, very smooth, but the neck is my age giveaway. I also read alot, and look at my phone alot, and I think "tech neck" is definitely a thing.

Thread lifts are good for flight sagging and not so expensive now. About £800

I was thinking last night while watching Dragons Den that if Deborah can't solve this problem with all her fortune, the rest of us certainly don't stand a chance. Still think she looks fab though I hasten to add!

I think it would go against her ethos. Aren't fillers, Botox tested on animals at some point?
Lentilweaver · 01/02/2023 15:51
I want to be Deborah Meaden when I grow up, so I am embracing my jowls. Already 51 anyway.
Delatron · 01/02/2023 16:39
I’m sure she could solve the problem but is probably happy with herself.
Serious jowls can only be ‘sorted’ with a lower facelift. It’s not the expense for many it’s the risk and down time etc.
I’m trying to keep on top of mine but it’s increasingly hard. I had Sofwave recently which is a heated ultrasound treatment similar to Ultherapy but less risk. It’s made a bit of a difference particularly under the chin but it’s expense for a subtle improvement.
I use micro current- Foreo bear. Again a tiny improvement but I can tell when I don’t do it.
I’m hoping all this little improvements help for now. But fully aware that once jowls get severe you either learn to live with them or get the facelift.

Maybe Deborah doesn't want to and that is her choice.
Nothing wrong with wanting to look like the best version of yourself without Botox etc which is why many of us lift weights etc. Facial exercise makes complete sense.

Probably but I meant more in terms of the lotions and potions that allude to help, rather than surgery which I'm sure does!
