If you hate heels and have wide feet, what smart shoes do you wear at work?

My old Hamble Oak brogues are scratched and a bit shabby, plus they’re still giving me blisters three years in (I have a wide forefoot but narrow heels so they rub on the heel). I was going to buy another pair and live with the blisters, but are there any other options for a smart, conservative office? I mainly wear trousers, a mix of wide leg and skinny, occasionally a dress.

I have a similar issue with rubbing at the back. Have you tried the little adhesive suedette cushion things you stick inside the back of the shoe? Super cheap on Amazon

I have a pair of John White brogues that I found in TK Maxx. I also own hamble oaks and the John Whites are much much comfier

I have wide feet but narrow ankles too. I always wear shoes with a strap as I walk out of court shoes or ballet flats. I bought these recently for work - they have a medium heel that is easy to walk in, and a double strap to keep them on at the back. They’re not cheap, but really comfy and look smart.

Calla and Sole Bliss are amazing for wide on the toes feet. I also have some Sargasso and Grey shoes which I really love

Fudgeandcaramel · 02/02/2023 18:08

Russell and Bromley loafers or brogues or ankle boots are your friends here. Eye wateringly expensive but very smart and really really comfortable from day one. Last for a decade with regular polishing and very occasional resoling.

froomeonthebroom · 02/02/2023 18:22

Moshulu brogues are a good fit for wide feet

popawheeelie · 02/02/2023 19:03

This Australian brand are $$ but designed by podiatrists and SO comfy.

Some of the black lacy toms are quite nice for the summer. Toes covered, not too trainery, cool.

Picoloangel · 02/02/2023 19:23

I wear Clark’s Brogues and find them incredibly comfortable- I have to walk a mile to the station and they’ve been fine from the get go - I have famously blister prone feet!

In the summer I wear smart flat black sandals. I have a nice low wedged heeled pair from M and S but if you don’t need to be super smart Next usually do some v comfy chunky wedged sandals. I have them in 2 colours and live in them in the summer.

Buddug · 02/02/2023 19:38

Have a look at Bliss.

Picoloangel · 02/02/2023 19:52

My Clarks brogues are a low wedge style and different to the Hamble Oaks.

I bought some Russell and Bromley shoes a while back and they killed my feet. Whatever I did they were excruciating. An extremely expensive mistake.

VerbenaGirl · 02/02/2023 19:56

I have some smart boots with a little heel from M&S and some FitFlop patent loafer style flats. As soon as it’s summery enough to get away with it I’m in smart Birkenstock and FitFlop thong sandals.

Badger1970 · 02/02/2023 20:06

Sargasso and Grey fan here.

I've got about 5 pairs now including boots, and they're sublimely comfortable. And the soles wear really well, so they're a worthy investment.

SirVixofVixHall · 02/02/2023 20:08

I have naturally wide feet, so the same sort of shape as you OP, and I didn’t find Hamble Oak all that comfortable .
I like Chie Mihara for smart shoes, not cheap but cheaper in the sale. Also they are beautifully made and last years and years. Chie Mihara
They are only one fitting but usually work on a slightly wider foot. Lots of heels but there are flats and lace ups with a low heel.

ThatLibraryMiss · 02/02/2023 20:39

Camper shoes might work for you. I have some of their Peu shoes and they have a very wide toe box.

Proseccorella · 02/02/2023 21:11

I have these from M&S and absolutely love them.

Try https://www.vivaia.com these] for wide fit and comfort. I've just ordered some boots but can't comment on them as they've not arrived yet.

Sorry, link fail!
