The Piz Buin foam stuff in Medium. Goes on really well, doesn't go sticky, doesn't stink, lasts for several days.
Better than St Tropez which I can't be arsed with.

Disaster recovery - microdermabrasion stuff. I have got the Neutrogena one. But is trading having a patchy crap orange face for a bright red, inflamed one (curse sensitive skin).

I am so crap with fake tan I don't know why I bother.

OliviaMumsnet · 05/02/2008 12:23

Sorry, what are we testing?

dividedselfridgesxmaswindow · 05/02/2008 12:24

I am so giving up the fake tan for now - it just doesn't work now I am so pale after weeks of wintryness. I slap some 'everyday' on face and chest every few nights but that's it. Are you still going for it whole hog stylee?

Nbg · 05/02/2008 12:26

I've yet to use a fake tan that doesn't make my legs look like a spotted dick.

HuwEdwards · 05/02/2008 12:30

NBG - Spotted Dick as in the Pudding, or the penis?

LadyVictorianSqualor · 05/02/2008 12:30

I used to love the avon one, but I bought it not long ago and it didnt work, at all.

GetOrfMoiLand · 05/02/2008 12:36

I am trying to cultivate the pale and interesting look, but the effect is less Dita Von Teese, more like her ex husband Marilyn Manson.

A good scrub using exfoliation gloves, a very light dab moisturiser on elbows and knees and leave it absorb for a few mins. I?ve tried many fake tans, but the best I?ve found for my skin (pale and freckly) is Lancome Flash Bronzer. Doesn?t smell too strong and is a nice light golden colour, dries quickly and I?ve never streaked it. I always wear rubber gloves, the fine surgical type. Only way to prevent orange palms.

Tutter · 05/02/2008 13:17

tsk

well i suppose that si ok cos im using clarins just now (love the smell)

SilentTerror · 05/02/2008 15:55

Nutrishimmer is the best 'everyday' type .I use it every other day on chest, neck, face and arms in the winter.Rubs in easily and gives a good colour without patches.
I exfoliate with gloves every few days in shower.
Love St Tropez Airbrush in the summer though!

StrangeTown · 05/02/2008 22:43

Clarins After Sun has a bit of fake tan in it and is excellent for Winter. Just gives a lovely glow and causes people to say 'You look well' in a jealous kind of way.
