All fake tan smells nice when it goes on and then like cheesy feet after a few hours...

ChorusLine · 07/02/2008 21:49

Dove is my favourite - i have psoriasis and this is only one that gives no adverse affects

TaLcYonHerTodd · 07/02/2008 21:57

Loreal nutrisummer was painless to apply but left a slightly jaundiced look on me.

Garnier face tan gave me an asthma attack.

Avon moisturiser with tint has yet to produce result.

winter tan very naff

PrincessPeaHead · 07/02/2008 23:24

I mix a tiny bit of lancome flash bronzer in with my usual night cream if I'm looking particularly grim and grey in the winter
I wake up looking just a bit healthier, but without that "fake tan" brown face

otherwise I've never really got into fake tan, I can spot it a mile off and I don't really see the point. Sorry!

PrincessPeaHead · 07/02/2008 23:26

I think exfoliating is v good in the winter though, get all those dead cells off and try and get a bit of a glow going on again

I do it either with Eve Lom cleansing cloth (or a manky old baby muslin - same effect!) or Olay does a cleanser with a very fine but effective grit in it. Use that every so often too.

Always use L'Oreal Nutrisummer, all year round, couldn't be without it. Nice healthy colour, makes me feel good, and always get complemented on 'have you been on holiday' or 'you're looking well' even when i've had three hours sleep (thanks DS)

MrsJohnCusack · 08/02/2008 01:17

I am pale as pale can be and the best so far for me is theJohnson's Holiday skin stuff - the paler version for goths like me. not orange at all and easy peasy to put on.

the effect I'm after is 'alive' rather than actually tanned and it works for me

agree exfoliation is THE most important thing. for face I have some fancy Australian organic stuff and one of those little face brush things

tinted moisturiser - have given up, most are orange on me.

bronzers - the benefit ones are very good

having asked for fake tan, actually I wouldn't bother in the winter anyway, but it's summer here and needs must

DualCylinderCod · 08/02/2008 10:54

well my foudnation wasnt matching my sad winter raddled codl sniffy face
fake tanned and bingo.

Maidamess · 08/02/2008 23:46

Best one I ever used on my face was cheapo Mc cheap Asda aftersun with hint of fake tan.

DualCycloneCod · 11/02/2008 18:18

Dove for me, but yes I do agree they all stink you up a bit. Two friends and sis swear by fake bake but they choose their colour via a wood chart, so not for the faint hearted methinks.
