HUUUUGE sale that has gone on for weeks and weeks. Very little new stock. Reminds me of recent events at Joules… Does anyone know what’s happening?

I’d look like my bits had gone missing…being a bit pale like….

just this

This cannot be real.

Is that bikini part of the new collection? It really is more Per Una rather than Sézane.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 11/01/2023 20:01

They never do anything in grey. Not blouses or dresses or trousers anyway.

Chatrattoria · 11/01/2023 20:06

The design team are just taking the piss now are t they? Do you think Johnny has refused them a pay rise and they’re designing passive aggressive bikinis?

Supersimkin2 · 11/01/2023 20:23

Just browsing. £95 for a polyester jersey?

Yikes. Shame cos it’s pretty.

Cashmere still good quality.

Kokeshi123 · 12/01/2023 02:58

A look at news articles online suggests that Boden is looking to younger American consumers as the big money-earner, rather than its traditional British 30+ market.

Well, there's no law against it. But as they're not targeting me, I won't be buying from them.

(Shrug)

QuentininQuarantino · 12/01/2023 05:45

I like that bikini/swimsuit thing 😶

I’m 35, slim and live by a beach in a warmer country.

I won’t buy it because I have breast tissue and there is no way that it could hold it in place, and because they are having a laugh with the price, but I like the style of it!

malificent7 · 12/01/2023 06:55

No idea why they were such a mum thing in the first place. So frumpy...as though having a baby means we have to give up on fashion.

That's actually quite nice!

No idea when I'd wear it though. Christmas party perhaps?

I just bought the green top as its come back in my size.... I'd happily wear it to the pub on a night out.

It may look more full on in the flesh... we'll see.

Boden do at least seem good for delivery and returns.

Ah yes. It does look like a good "going out" top

Pumpupthejampumpitup · 12/01/2023 08:22

I hope Boden are reading this!

I thought it was just me getting older when I looked at Boden offerings recently, but it seems I’m not alone. I’m a blond haired, blue eyed woman and I could barely find a colour to suit me. I’m also in my mid 50s so I have money to spend.

Yes yes to lacking decent design, decent fabrics and a better range of colours.

I still have their velvet coat and a couple of ponte dresses but have only bought one thing in the last 2 years… which I’ve barely worn.

You've lost your way Boden. Please come back.

I hope it does look good - let us know! @Metabigot
i just think it looks like a vest with a bit sewn on the arms - I hope to be wrong 😀

The sleeves are enormous. Toned down it might look better, but it looks like something you'd find in theatrical costume hire.

Yes I'd love to know what it's like IRL

This is the only time I bought Boden - when I’d had babies and didn’t know what the f to wear

Cathyandchris · 12/01/2023 08:57

That swimsuit 😳 I’m mid 40s, in good shape, but no way in hell would i wear that. It doesn’t even look good on the model - makes her look flat chested and like she has a big waist, when she is neither of those things. Plus it’s £75.

Waterfallgirl · 08/01/2023 16:57

I bought this and love it! Just goes to show…

I’m quite small on top, and big puffy or flouncy shoulders really work on me. It not as exaggerated as the pic shows.

The reviews say there's not as much tulle as in the pictures so here's hoping.

I do have a bit of an ' out there' fashion style and like to push the envelope a little so it may work.... and I love the colour

Will update when it arrives

It seems designed fir someone with a big tum and no tits... usually if you have one you have the other I've found.

awaynboilyurheid · 12/01/2023 09:35

I also love the green top! But I used to look at Boden and think I could buy xy and z as there were so many choices I liked, but now I agree it’s lost it’s way.
It needs to think of the target market, better styles good quality and stick to some classics, not try to spread themselves thinly thinking of the very young who are not going to buy Boden anyway.

Curledupwithagoodbook · 12/01/2023 09:58

Another one who used to love Boden. My wardrobe is full of their stuff, but none of it - other than a couple of plain t shirts - bought in the last few years.

I think they've made a really basic mistake, just like M & S, of not listening to their client base. Well made, stylish understated items that last for years was always what they did so well, but they've moved into something else now. I've no idea who they think they are appealing to now, but it's not me.

I ordered a coat from them in the recent sale. It was almost the same as one I'd sent back a couple of years ago. It seemed reasonable to assume that all the design faults pointed out in the reviews then would have been addressed, but no. A fur trimmed hood that covers your eyes (!) but if you take the fur off it didn't cover all your head, just like before. Wide flappy sleeves just like before, and no way to draw the waist in, just like before. £200+ for a coat that doesn't fulfill the must basic of functions. So they aren't even getting their old staples right.
