yes, it does indeed. It's not a criticism, really fantastic opportunity to buy some beautiful items!
i bought my bayswater clutch in 2018 and saw a "special purchase" sticker on the tag and emailed customer service who explained that it was not a "main collection reduction". They said that it was made by Mulberry, to the same standards and a run of previous styles are remade in pieces of left-over materials.
Don't know for sure but I think the Bayswater clutch was discontinued in 2016. i'd be none the wiser if i weren't so fussy and obsessive noticing the sticker.
Other items in sale have been part of a main or most recent season collection and are reduced, so not all handbags with reductions were made only for winter or summer sales.
my own mulberry camera bag from 2014 was purchased in House of Fraser, so it wasn't made for sales originally. when i saw it in the sale, i really wanted the rosewater - gone so fast!
It's like the outlet at Bicester, some re-runs of original styles are made in colours or types of leather never released and sold in a main seasonal collection in stores or via official website.
Equally at Bicester, they do sell stuff that has been a main collection item but wan't popular and has been sent to outlet to be sold. I got a Lily handbag made out of nylon and leather trim for £379 and i quite clearly remember looking at it in John Lewis.
