Any products that are just worth it? Either cheapish, or a bit more expensive but worth every penny, saving time or just so good you never need to buy anything else.

I've got or already use:

a velvetiser
Use mitchum roll on deodorant
Dettol antibacterial soap for my under arms
Redken so soft shampoo and conditioner
O'Keeffe foot cream

I've just bought tigi bed head shampoo and conditioner, oplex no 3, Revlon one styliser, cerave moisturiser and cleanser

Is Molton and Brown worth investing in?

What toothpaste is worth it?

Hairdryer? I've seen Dyson, but at £300, is it worth it?

Maybeline Fit Me primer

M&S foundation (the one in the black container)

Aussie leave in conditioner spray

Garnier no rinse conditioner

Benefit Rollerlash

Boots 17 or Natural Collection clear mascara ( good for brow gel)

Garnier spf 50 plus facial sunscreen. Much cheaper than LRP equivalent

spuddel · 20/12/2022 18:39

Davines All in One Milk. I have fine hair prone to matting, I used to dread brushing it out after washing. Now it's no problem and the style stays in place even after bed. Hope it's never discontinued.

Good candles are worth the money, NEOM, Diptyque for example.

I love Euthymol toothpaste, not expensive but just so good. And fluoride free, bonus.

Elnett hairspray, does what it says on the tin and combes out easily.

Salt of the Earth roll on, amazing.

Lentilweaver · 20/12/2022 18:39

Tretinoin. I get mine from overseas very cheaply, less than £2 a tube, but I believe you can get it on Dermatica.

procrastinator8 · 20/12/2022 18:40

Leighton Denny glass nail file

HundredMilesAnHour · 20/12/2022 18:40

Pretty much covered in this existing thread:

HimiJendrix · 20/12/2022 18:42

I have had a Champneys glass nail file for years, it's still as good as new and is constantly used. Never bought another file since mum gave me this one.

cicatrix1 · 20/12/2022 20:20

lentilweaver can I ask wear you get it from ? Dont want to go down the monthly prescription fees.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/12/2022 20:25

Another vote for Rollerlash. Dandelion too.

Personally, I don’t think Molton Brown is worth it.

Jigsaw lace trimmed camisoles.

Milk blusher stick.

Deathraystare · 20/12/2022 21:30

I ratherove Molton Brown shower gel though obviously a bit pricey. The Ylang- ylangis a favourite.

Mavais toothpaste jasmine and lavender

Cerave cleanser and moisture lotion mainly for body than face
Soap and Glory cleanser, eye make up remover, moisturiser and night cream.lus their heck of a blot face powder

Avon Glimmerstick eyeliner comes in lots of shades. Ui favour Cosnic Brown, Saturn Grey and black Brown as the black rather harsh on me

Erborian bb and cc creams

A number of mascaras from Wilko Essence Princess mascara to Diorshowvarious lipsticks from cheap to pricey

Blister

That Norwegian formula hand cream.

Moisturisers from Nivea to Estee Lauder

Deathraystare · 20/12/2022 21:32

Blist x sorry if I try to type it stupid phone calls ot Blister!!!

Appalonia · 20/12/2022 21:36

Origins Vitazing. Was recommended on here years ago and I've bought it ever since. Gives a lovely glow underneath makeup.

BlossomWood · 20/12/2022 21:43

Salt of the earth deodorant crystal. Wasn't expensive and lasts forever.
I use it in the morning, never feel the need to 'top up' my deodorant at any point in the day, and wake up the next morning without any BO wiff under my pits.
I've very sensitive skin and often break out in rashes under my arms, I've had none of that. I'm really impressed after years of using insufficient deodorants.

Brrrrrrrrrrrr · 20/12/2022 21:52

Salt of the Earth crystal deodorant- a miracle product highly highly recommend

The Ordinary Glycolic 7% toner every other night after double cleansing

Well Woman Vitamins

Garnier Hand Repair cream (red tube)

dudsville · 20/12/2022 21:55

Eve lom cleanser. Not everyone rates it but it's an undeniable cult classic. After extensive research trying to find a cheaper alternative, I finally gave up last year i bought the 450ml tub for a special birthday and because it worked out so much cheaper per ml at that size. This week they offered 35% off as a thank you, so the 450ml tub was £104. It will last 12 months.

Polkadotpjs · 20/12/2022 21:58

Foundation for me. The shade/ colours in cheaper brands are great now but the "skin feel" isn't as good as a nice Mac

frugalkitty · 20/12/2022 23:02

Elemis cleansing balm is worth the cost, as it completely washes away and doesn't leave any residue. I buy from qvc or a group on FB though, never full price.

dizzyupthegirl86 · 20/12/2022 23:07

Moroccanoil dry shampoo. I never imagined paying £20 for dry shampoo but it’s the only one that makes my hair look decent and doesn’t feel powdery and vile. Have tried SO many others but none compare to that for me.

the dyson hairdryer is good, if you blow dry your hair a lot then I think it’s worth the investment.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 21/12/2022 08:31

Repeat buys for me:

Venus razors - I know people say just use men's disposables but I can't get on with them, I use the ones where you buy the handle and then just buy the heads which feels a lot less wasteful.

Superfacialist Vitamin C cleansing oil - nice light texture, gets everything off.

Superdrug Vit E hot cloth cleanser

Superdrug glycolic toner - just as good as Pixi glow tonic

Tretinoin ( I use Dermatica).

Kiehls Midnight recovery concentrate

Garnier pink lid micellar water

Colour wow Dreamcoat for incredibly silky hair

No7 Hydraluminous foundation

Nars Sheer Glow foundation

Maybelline Matte Maker powder

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless filter ( recently have switched to Collection's Filter Finish which is just as good and 1/5th of the price).

Lancôme Hypnose mascara

Bold Uniq purple toner - it's the only one that actually makes a difference on my hair and turns it an ashy blonde rather than brassy.

e.l.f eyeshadow crayon stick things - limited colours but the brown is nice.

Toothpaste - I swear by Colgate optic and stockpile it when it's on offer.

Molton Brown- meh it's ok. I think it's overpriced for what it is but the smells are very nice. Always happy to receive as a gift but wouldn't buy it myself. Ditto Laura Mercier bath stuff. Personally I love the Radox muscle therapy bath soak and it's about a quid. I also pick up Ortigia hand soap when I can in TK Maxx. The Neroli one is lush.

Candles - Diptyque, Cire Trudon, both gorgeous but pricey. Sand and Fog from TK Maxx are my go to now. Or I make my own Grin

dizzyupthegirl86 · 21/12/2022 09:57

@LadyOfTheCanyon have you ever tried the kiko eyeshadow sticks? I’ve not tried the elf ones but have loads of the kiko ones. Last ages, loads of colours, blend really nicely. I’ve got some Bobbi brown ones and rate the kiko ones more!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 21/12/2022 10:07

Oh interesting! I nearly went into Kiko on Regent street yesterday but it was absolutely demented in there so I didn't bother! I like the ByTerry ombré blackstar ones but they are quite expensive. They really don't budge once they're on. 💪🏼

kimlek · 21/12/2022 10:08

@Brrrrrrrrrrrr @BlossomWood @spuddel is the ‘salt of the earth’ deodorant an antiperspirant too? My teen daughter really struggles to find a deodorant that prevents her sweating. She can only wear black tops as otherwise gets sweat patches after minutes! I’m wondering if this will work or not?

heartbeatt · 21/12/2022 11:56

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue tinted moisturiser.

Hourglass Ambient Light powder. Like a real life filter for your face Xmas Grin

Garnier Vit C serum. Cheap and a game changer.

Beauty Blender sponges.

Bed Head shampoo and conditioner. Oh and their BeeHive dry shampoo.

Benefit Goof Proof brow pencil.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 21/12/2022 12:46

Good call on the Hourglass lighting powder, that stuff is amazing.

heartbeatt · 22/12/2022 08:44

LadyOfTheCanyon · 21/12/2022 12:46

Good call on the Hourglass lighting powder, that stuff is amazing.

It really is. However just in case anyone goes and buys it on the back of this thread, they blurb says 'all shades suit all skin tones'. This is bullshit. You do need to go and try it, or read a lot of reviews to work out which shade will suit you best.

Also, less is definitely more. Too much and it will sit in your pores. I use a really fine sweep of it and it's fab.
